    Re F-100f Restoration Location

Hello to all who have replied trying to guess the whereabouts of my Super Sabre…I do not remember ever mentioning that it is currently, or ever has been a display aircraft. Who knows, it may be sitting in a barn or hangar somewhere!? And remember I have more than one to restore…Bet that gets your thinking caps on!? Many thanks for ALL your replies though, it’s nice to get feedback when I am only a recent recruit to your forum. 🙂

    Your Reply

    Hi there Crazymainer

Could you give me more details of where I should post please. Did you mean on this site?

    Many thanks.

    Hi F-100F,

May I suggest that you leave a post over on the Warbird Resource groups forum and leave a post on your on-going restoration project.

Their is at least two wixs memebers who have access to century aircraft parts.

    Cheers Crazymainer

    Hi Mark.

Thanks for your reply. I know I should post more information but at the moment I cannot. When I get confirmation from the President and USAAF to go ahead with this (I do have agreement from custodians of the plane/s THERE ARE MORE than one) I shall post more information. Dedicated volunteers will travel! My project is based in South East England. I have approximately 6 “ground crew” on board including a metallurgist, 2 painters with scientific backgrounds, a structural engineer (not military) and me, a female with loads of enthusiam, a GREAT idea and a penchant for fighters!! I do want to generate lots of interest!

    Welcome from me too,

If you are serious though you really should post a lot more information about the project, including location to at least county level. Volunteers need to be motivated but generally do not like travelling very long distances. If the project sounds enticing enough you will generate interest.

    Good luck!

    Re: Restoration

No, unfortunately it will never be air worthy again. It is my plan to return it to as pristine condition as possible inside and out and get it moved, lifted and mounted as a “Gate Guardian” in Vietnam colours. More Information will be posted as and when USAAF and President Bush give me their agreement. I have the agreement in principal of the Custodians of the plane/s.

My project includes other fighters as well but the F-100f is my priority.

Is the intention to return it to flying condition?

I also agree with the above posts; we need (lots) more information.

    Restoration

I am trying to find engineers with military fighter engineering backgrounds to help me in a restoration project of a “Legendary USAAF Warbird”. Anyone out there?? This is a genuine Plea, I am a woman with NO engineering skills whatsoever!

    Hi Eric Mc!

It was one I had in mind of a UK entry, and this is the nearest thing they have to a WWII aircraft. It seems a shame the collection is left to the elements, like it is. I’ve been there on a number of occasions, and very little seems to change. 🙁

Here is another site from my travels in the Czech republic, which is located on the road between Opava, and Ostrava. There is a large museum nearby comemorating a large Russian battle from WWII, but what is interesting is they have log books from Czech Pilots who flew in WWII, for the RAF, and several bits from a crashed B17.
