One of my favourite all time…Ventura Highway by America…still as good as when it came out!

Killer lyrics…
tell me, how long you gonna stay here Joe?
Some people say this town don’t look good in snow
You don’t care, I know.
…Alligator lizards in the air

I can assure you that they’re no slouches in live performance.
And did we really need all of those individual postings, Tony?
ps…. I used to play in a band with a drummer who played with Swing Out Sister. 🙂
I haven’t seen them live but glad that were good in the flesh!
Wow, what kind of music were you playing? btw…one of our clients is the drummer from Simply Red…(ok, I know I know…but I liked the early stuff!)…and missed teh o2 shows in London a couple of weeks back but people from work who went said it was good..I might catch them in the Spring – it’s their last ever world tour next year as Mick Hucknel wants to go back to his blues roots -but might have to fly to Prague which would be nice.:)
Sorry mate, I’ll cut down on the posts:o

Ahh, Haitian Divorce. One of my favourite Steely Dan tracks along with Brooklyn, Any Major Dude and Deacon Blues. They were only really a ‘band’ as such when they brought out their first couple of albums. Then they started using session guys according to the sound they were trying to create, so from around Katy Lied in 1975 ‘Steely Dan’ was pretty much just Walter Becker and Donald Fagen (who I share my birthday with. Random or what?! Then again I also share it with Rod Stewart!)
Nice to see another SD fan, anyway. 🙂
Paul
Too right Paul, I love SD! Aja is a great album as well. Spooky that you’ve got the same birthday as Donald Fagen and Rod Stewart!
If you look at the session guys they used, it’s like a list of who’s who…e.g. like Joe Sample of teh Crusaders on keyboard…but it’s the song writing and ideas that make it.
Keep playing and have a good Christmas!

Classic sound of the 80s: Corinne Drewery is always great but in a leather catsuit…here in Brixton 2001 is a cover better than the original… Am I the same girl-Swing Out Sister
