    Hello all.

I found out recently about this recording, the only one in existence of Adolf Hitler speaking off the record, totally off guard. It was recorded in Finland, it seems by accident one day during a state visit.

I’m trying to find a way to download it, or listen to it, just for historical interest, but the only website I can find is Finnish and I haven’t even the faintest grasp of the language! I thought that there was a chance someone here might know something, here is the link to the website if you are interested.

    http://www.yle.fi/elavaarkisto/?s=s&g=1&ag=3&t=22&a=376

    Thanks guys.

    Jo.

The amazing thing is to hear Hitler speaking in a conversational tone rather than the ranting we’re used to in his speeches – talking about Russia he says he would not have believed it if somebody told him a country could start a war with 35,000 tanks “I would have said they were crazy!'”

Sound was on TV recently but the transcript (in English) of Hitler’s conversation with Finnish army chief Mannerheim is here:

    http://www.wargamer.com/articles/bdvisit2.asp

This was recorded in a railway carriage where Hitler met Finnish Army Head Mannerheim in June 1942 – Finnish President Ryte and German Field Marshall Keital were also present but Hitler does all the talking. Mikes were set up by Finnish radio and recording only stopped when Hitler’s security bods found the wires. Unlike in the rants for public consumption, Hitler appears to be quite candid about his own mistakes and unfortunately the recording was stopped before he finished saying what he discussed with Soviet foreign minister Molotov.

Yes…forget the red arrows!!!…this is the real stuff!

What I’d ask Roman is…how many teams are supposed to win the Champions league each year? Do you sack all the managers of the teams that don’t? (Roman mate..even if you buy Ronald Macdonald for £100m do you really think that guarantees winning the CL?)

That’s what you get if you buy Shvenchenko for £30m (…and he still can’t run! I’ll never forget the sight of Mourinho laughing his head off on the bench after Shvenchko missed open goal after open goal!) without even asking Mourinho!

He has a good eye for players…people slagged him off buying Drogba (bought him after a fantastic CL semi-final against Chelsea when he ran the show).. after taking a short time to settle down he led the line with heart and balls (it wasn’t always Terry but Drogba that gave pep talks and geed up the team!) and was top scorer!

He wanted to buy Micah Richards last year for £5m…now captain of Man City (2nd in league!) and likely to be an England regular for years..idiots like Kenyon (Mr Yes man) and Roman said too expensive for an 18 year old! what price now..£15m-£20m?

I have to agree with you there but for absolute and total genius that has yet to be ever repeated ever again I would have to go with this little number….

    http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=z0I3DHEqqvM

Just watch what he does with his thumb at 4m11sec:eek: 😮 , it floored me the first time I watched it and every time I see his set at WS I always end up in a state of utter disbelief…..the man was, is and allways will be a unique axe grinder that has yet to be equalled.
    Regards,
    John.
