As someone said, a bit like the kettle calling the pot black!

Do most Americans know, or even more to the point, care that most of mankind lives, works and plays (even if to US movies) outside America, and that the good ole US of A isn’t the be all and end all of everything that is good about mankind!

And just because we say things like that (even if true) does not mean we hate America or Americans! But you lot do make it easy for the rest of us to take the piss-no offense intended!

Hi

I saw a documentary (BBC?) years ago about the Kalash. There were many strong indicators for their Hellenic heritage.

However, being isolated for so long in that magical valley they were bound to develop their own unique culture. It would be a shame if they were to see it consumed by tourism or pressured to conform to the mores of the rest of the Kashmir valleys in Northern Pakistan.

In case you thought John Simpson was rude just to Pim
Fortuyn, you should know he isn’t easy on other politicans whether in Britain or elsewhere.

I’ll never forget the interview he had with Gadaffi when Gadaffi farted throughout the interview! Simpson kept a straight face throughout (just!) and didn’t bat an eyelid!

Pim Fortuyn was a politican (sad he’s dead-some interesting views-don’t have to agree with everything he said) but just like many politicans he loved the sound of his own voice. Here in Britain journalists are not so craven as to treat an straight (no pun intended) interview as an audience with the Queen (even if he was a queen-again, no offense anyone!).

John Simpson is a top man!

It’s got to be Wayne County and the Electric Chairs-“If you don’t want to know me then ##### off!”- the chorus is particularly good because to get ##### to rhyme with not-so-obvious words ain’t easy.
