certainly, RMAllnutt suggested it was for gate duty, but they have a museum there also http://www.fleetairarm.com/ so it could possibly go inside, except it already has a phantom XT596 which may be doubling things up? http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.search?regsearch=XT596

Ahhh… many thanks, I understand now. So the Phantom will become a gate guard for the base then?

not necessarily as i think they have a small’ish museum there (which already has a phantom)

Don’t you just love those Halifax threads, I do;)

The radiation situation was six or seven years ago, the cockpit is fully open with reproduction instrument faces fitted. It’s a great way to view the conditions the young airmen went to war in.

only other shackelton cockpit is WL756 owned by this forums Camlobe i believe? perhaps you should pm him an offer johnny?
