could still be hunter, maybe whirlwind, possibly an engine capable of running, perhaps a manky su-22, or a hatch a plan to build a brigand, start a museum or maybe build a provost from grp, and i think the latest is a master with no help from the berkshire boys based around a throttle box that hadn’t been won yet
a right gotcha π
So much for Cosford not getting one then….
why do you say that ? especially as the link to the Key article says…
“Six aircraft are to be flown to museums across the UK, the other five being to Manchester Airport, Bruntingthorpe, Coventry, Cosford and possibly Carlisle, although the latter has yet to be confirmed “
does he mean bristol bulldog or scottish aviation bulldog ?

I don’t know what the bloody hell BAe are playing at, out of all the airframes they can choose to use for all this destructive testing, they use one of these? Banning volunteers from it, and no photos? its bloody ridiculous. I can understand that the itchy red blanket of the aviation world, H & S, is to blame, but still…
As others have pointed out, she’ll still live on in other aircraft, but at the end of the day, she is still going to be scrapped.
It just angers me that such a wondrous machine is going to go to the chop, I just wish it would happen sooner, its been on death row for a long time and its almost painful seeing her sit there, waiting for the inevitable JCB’s to arrive.
perhaps you’d be kind enough to tone down the rhetoric & profanity young man ?
anybody know why MOD is still handing out juicy Harrier GR9 upgrade contracts if the fleet will start being withdrawn soon ? Or is it just another budget black hole?
very very nice photos !! π
And have a great christmas and a fantastic new year to everyone. Lets hope 2010 is a good year and we have few accidents. Happy flying π
hopefully no accidents, not few
think youll find it was on ebay other day, but pulled as it was sold
I concur.
The long thin one goes beside left pilots arm on the cockpit wall, the other is the overhead panel although differs in detail from RAF examples.
i would love to have a crack at the cockpit π
Theres a vampire and jet provost cockpits on ebay if you fancy a crack at something
I wondered about the identification too…..but Iβm hopeless with Hunters…
…itβs a single-seater…..so does that make it a GA11?
‘831’ = GA.11 WT804
Ken Ellis’ part work spread throughout Air Britain quarterly circa 1998-2003 has this info’ for G-AEBT (plus a photo if you need it)……
