Russia, India in joint drone project
Russia and India are mulling a project for a recoverable rocket-firing drone based on their BraMos cruise missile. Engineers from the two sides started discussing the proposal at a meeting in New Delhi on Monday.
The drone will be capable of delivering heavy explosive payloads to targets thousands of kilometres away from its home base.

New Manpad…
Army conducting tests of a new Manpad (reportedly called VERBA) at the 726 training centre. Tests are expected to be finished by the end of 2011 and an initial order for 250 units expected from the MoD. State tests successfully completed in 2009-10.
The missile is reportedly equipped with a 3 channel homing head and non-contact fuse. Range, reaction time and explosive power increased by 20-30% in comparison to older models.
It’s just a media report at this stage.
The new ones
The reports are being denied by the Airforce

I noticed the picture above Kamov´s Ka-65 model has exactly the same layout as Mil´s high speed design, though it´s fuselage looks different than anything I´ve seen for Mil´s proposal… Is this just a new fuselage for the high speed competition, or is it another aircraft with the same layout? …By the looks of it, either a UAV or a ´stealth´ scout/attack helicopter.
It says perspective attack helicopter while the Ka-65 is the planned successor to the Ka-27
The pic of the model is from 2008 but upgrade details were from a 2010 report with 2013 as the target date….although it would seem to compete with the Mi-38 because it would have almost comparable performance.
I managed to find a English language article…

And a Russian report from March 2011 (translated)…although it seems it’s a civilian project.
The current civilian program includes a heavy multi-purpose Mi-26T helicopter, the medium multi-purpose Mi-9MTV / Mi-171 / MI-172 and Ka-32, as well as light multipurpose Ansat and Ka-226.
In development – medium multipurpose helicopters Mi-38, Mi-171M and Ka-62 and light multi-purpose Mi-34S2 and Ka-26T.
It is a less ambitious upgrade compared to the 2008 model

Mi-8M – the planned 3rd major upgrade of the veteran Mi-8. Among other changes, it’s suppose to get the Mi-38 rotor system and engine.

Flateric, is there any official information to confirm your claim?
I’m not sure what Flateric’s sources are but Ruslav Pukhov, director of CAST (Centre for Analysis of Strategies and Technology) believes that there will be a follow on order for another 48 Su-35’s after the first one is completed.
According to him, a total of 80 Su-34’s will be acquired by 2020.
It’s based on the Air Force plans to purchase about 1500 aircraft/helicopters by 2020
