Iskander Missiles in operational units?

Unless I misunderstood the Arms-Tass article (my Russian isn’t good enough), the Iskander has entered operational service with a unit of the Volga-Ural Military district

What sort of modernization? Repairs for the reactors, or real modernization? New electronics and missiles?

The “Admiral Nakhimov”

The Russian Navy intends to return the nuclear-powered cruiser “Admiral Nakhimov” in the Northern Fleet, Navy officials confirm. The vessel has the last nine years been docked in the Sevmash shipyard in Severodvinsk, Arkhangelsk Oblast.

The “Admiral Nakhimov” was taken out of service in 1990 and the Navy long intended to scrap the vessel. Now however the fate of the vessel might take another turn.

During a meeting in Sevmash last week, navy representatives said that the ship will be take back into the Northern Fleet, newspaper Korabelnaya Storona reports. The press service of Sevmash confirms that the vessel, although having been docked for nine years, is in a good state.

The man who is top responsible for the ship, Mr. Boris Gulin says to the newspaper that a new schedule for the upgrade of the vessel now is being elaborated.

All electric equipment is to be replaced and new computer technology installed. In addition, the vessel’s “Granit” missile system will be replaced with new missile models.

“The designated targets were a naval ship and coastal facilities.” Why use such a platform for attacking coastal facilities? Using only your AK-130? I would much rather use another platform for that. Btw, they do not have any naval missiles for land-attack role in Black Sea.

Wrong, as proven by UN reports. You can give all the related incidents with date to bolster that claim.

First part is correct, till the point they pushed the PLO aside and seperated Gaza. From that time Hamas does run Gaza alone in full responsebility.
The second part is the claim from Hamas.

The Warsaw Ghetto did last from 1940-43. It did start with ~450.000 people, when some thousand did survive that some way.
The Gaza-Strip had a population of ~380.000 people in 1967. In 2008 that has reached 1,5 million. When your claim is correct, we would have seen some thousand left of those somewhere in 1970. So much about the credibility of your claims.

Hamas came to power legitimately….and since 2006, Gaza has been subjected to all sorts of pressure and provocations.

Israel blockaded Gaza for the whole duration of the 6th month ceasefire and carried out numerous bombing raids (as I said, killing 40 people) thus breaking the ceasefire as well.

I have very little sympathy for Hamas or any other islamic organisation, but bombing a small crowded territory with 1000 kg bombs for over a week?

Hamas is not an Army with heavy weapons so what exactly is the IAF bombing?….Police stations???….civilian infrastructure??? So far, this can can only be described as cowardice!…..if Hamas is the problem, then they should’ve gone in by now and deal with them like soldiers

In the last 6 months, Israel has killed 40 Palestinians in Gaza for the loss of a grand total of 0 (Zero) Israelis. The current ratio is 100 : 1.

There was another Army that practiced the same type of retribution in WWII which also carried out a similar operation in a certain gheto.

There was some speculation that the Chinese were interested in an upgraded SU-27 KUB (from the clip above) as a carrier based strike aircraft and it’s a possible candidate for a strike aircraft for any future Russian carrier.

The suspicion about a F-15 downing comes from this image (note the english writing)

which was shown on news reports about the Mig-29 downing. The implication is that they showed the F-15 wreckage by mistake. Both the Mig-29 and alleged F-15 shoot down are suppose to have happened at roughly the same time and later the footage of the F-15 was taken off.
