How about waiting to shoot if you’re not at war with someone?
I’m not sure what kind of threat one aircraft could pose to warrant such an action?
They are “at war” it just hasn’t been officially declared….that is at least crystal clear.
Toward Sary Shagan. 😉 Likely testing a new warhead.
Looks like the missile was visible throughout the Middle East…

One of two new Mi-26 being prepared at Rostvertol…believed to be Mi-26TZ variants (tanker – fuel supply)
There’s little doubt that the talks on the Su-35 have been taking place. Confirmed by Fomin among others. But no one can say for sure publicly at what stage they are and how close (or far) are they from a deal
Looks like someone’s idea of a bad joke (the new camo)

Some news…
Contract signed for equipping the Ka-52 with a new broadband communication system – “Briz”.
Has all sorts of nifty features but doesn’t need more than 150 watts of power and weighs less then 10Kg. Implementation of the contract is planned for 2012-2020…

Photo enhancement by Steve Douglass
Hmmm, Steve Douglass.
I would take anything ‘created or claimed’ by Steve Douglass with an extreme pinch of salt. .
It’s just the outline of the engine….what’s so hard to believe about it?
The Chinese are already cashing in 🙂

Congratz to Iran if UAV is the real deal. I wonder what brought it down was Chinese, Russian or Iranian system.
I wouldn’t underestimate home grown Iranian capabilities, although foreign tech is usually used as a basis for their own systems.

Here is some good evidence and a analysis of differential LEVICON from a colleague of my “sivisoko” from http://www.mycity-military.com/Avijacija-i-PVO/T-50-novi-ruski-lovac_170.html#1156595 (it’s in serbian so use google translate)
Good catch and thanks for sharing 🙂
I think this should settle the argument.
If there’s an export potential then the fighter-bomber version will be developed.
The Su-25’s will remain in service till 2020 at least…
Well, I think it makes little sense ofr RuAF to get any single seater version of Yak-130, when there are plenty of Su-25 flying around….
Irkut is proposing an attack version as a replacement for the Su-25
It would be a minor miracle if they manage to salvage this mission IMO…
