The postcode that the bloke selling the merlin and curtiss engines etc etc etc is a shopping centre in aberdeen a friend got caught by him and apparently craigslist are not interested it seems craigslist is a site for scammers and thats it!!!!
I was involved in a dig last year I told where it was by the chap that supposedly buried the equipment there on a site where there were supposedly buried jeeps trucks spare etc etc we got the mod involved as well and had magnetometers eventually we had dug in excess of 60 holes down to a depth of 20 feet all over the land and all we came up with was a belt buckle and a 60s dinky milkfloat.. Until some one shows me all this buried equipment i reckon its a load of rubbish
Hi gipsy1 thankyou for your reply it sounds like this wan$er is having a right go… Please could you send me the mobile number via private message please?

How difficult is it to get parts are they available as I may have found one in an incomplete condition!
any ideas what sort of price I should be paying for a complete engine?
The chap is looking for offers around £12000 and I do not know if its complete as it is totally in pieces and the pieces are taken to pieces as well there are definetly no carbs or mags
Thankyou I am searching hard and have been offered one that has been taken to pieces but its far to much money
I think it is a c5 I am after I know the model number of the one I saw had a 5 in it!!
Not spitfire related but I have recently been involved in a dig for ex us army vehicles that were supposedly buried in a local field we dug for two days made 40 holes and all we found was a dinky toy.(This was done due to a very popular rumour that a lot of people talked about) Until some one actually shows me these spitfires or a jeep or harley in a crate I will not believe that there is any buried kit in great amounts. With these buried planes it would of taken months to dig a hole that size with the machinery they had back then and if there are so many its even less likely. Even if they had hydralic excavators and an army of dump trucks and people it would of taken weeks. If you work it out how long a spit is and the length of the wings and the size of the crates they were packed in that gives an idea of the size 36 feet of wing 29 feet of fuselage and 6000lbs in weight. No it does not add up. Has any one seen any pictures of them yet?
Im sorry to say that due to my hand injury my cheetah has been offered to a fellow cheetah rebuilder. Thankyou all for your fantastic support With this project of mine Its a very sad decision but I had to make it due to various circumstances with my hand.If any spares do come up in the future I will keep all the other cheetah rebuilders informed.
