There used to be some parts in the pit/jumo area of an assault corse at the Rear of the TA Barracks (208) Battery TA “they used to be a Light Air Defense Unit with 47mm and later Blowpipe Missiles.
These were brought to the unit after Live Fire Exercises to show the rest of the Regt. I know because I saw them (the parts).;) 😉

I am just wondering as to WHY when we have a bit of snow the schools close and some buisineses let their staff off. I could quite see the reason if s we had approx 8″ + of snow but when the weather was much worse in the early 60s we NEVER heard of schools closing (or perhaps we would put up with it and not CRY like today’s schoolies).:confused: :confused:

Was that an OLD Varsity at the rear of the Sgt’s Mess at RAF Newton andif so WHAT happened to it ??? :confused:

If the YANK forces couldnt do any good whilst they were there with all their resorces WHAT THE HELL DOES ANYONE EXPECT THE UK FORCES COULD DO ??? (WHY DID THE YANKS PULL OUT ANYWAY !!! WAS IT TOO HARD FOR THEM)

Ihave just finished this book and I would recommend it to anyone interested in aviation.It will be a CLASSIC
