Perhaps a photo of said item might jog someones memory more who is not quite so familiar with part No.s
“Oh one of those!”
Photo will be on in the morning hopefully, if our internet is working correctly.
Very sad news indeed. Meet him quite a few times over the past 5/10 years at various BBMF functions/do’s. First time I met him was at fighter pilot do at Lakenheath where we had a Spit on show during the meal and speeches. I remember he jumped straight into the cockpit and then we had a devil of a time to get him out again, firstly because he didn’t want to and secondly because he couldn’t.
Will be sorely missed by all at BBMF.
When I was growing up in deepest Cumbria, we used to watch motorbike racing at Silloth, and I believe that was a wartime airfield.
Unfortunately there will be no BBMF A/C involved as this is our weekend off, but the BBMF sales trailer will be there if interested.

And has it always been there? Like I said before, it’s the first time I’ve noticed it!
Yes, its a bung. Taken out each winter as part of our servicing. Nowt to do with poppy drops.
It didnt have a problem with brakes at Fairford on Monday, the PR Spitfire did. Stormin was on the Lanc and they had to get him off to tend to the Spit, hence the delay.
Cheers but it doesn’t take me 30mins to get off the Lanc!!
Yes PS915 had a brake problem but I was already off the Lanc, and as it was then confirmed that PS had a big air leak so 2 of us stayed behind as the Spit pilot jumped on the Lanc and they went home. I later confirmed it was a brake bag change, which after a drive back to Coningsby to fetch spares we finished yesterday afternoon. PS is now OK and will return to home tomorrow via Cottesmore.

Yes, nice to have company at Deauville. Glad slight niggle was sorted. It was a good weekend, especially visit to Pegasus Bridge on Sat afternoon.

Perhaps they ought to change all the engines and do a major service on the airframe changing the maintenance crew once a week until the entire staff at Coningsby have been rotated through:D:D:D
:D:)
OK, not sure if this is correct or not, but here at BBMF we are now selling some stuff on E**Y. This is the link:
