Well that will explain it then! i vaguely recall reading that somewhere now you mention it, I had the priviledge of meeting Godfrey Auty some years ago and he was a lovely unassuming modest Gentlemen, He told me he was picked to fly the 188 cos he was of a smaller stature and if youve ever seen the cockpit of that aircraft you can well believe it.

yes i too popped over on monday afternoon, definately the best value show ive been to for a while, infact since the days i used to sneak into the weston park airshow for nothing as a kid through a small gate off the A5! The sound of that Hercules radial was fantastic! I didnt catch his name but the chap who was running it was very helpful and co-operative too! a chap fom uttoxeter? Apparently hes got a Griffon too and will be running this at future events.Well done for braving the elememts and carryiong on, i beleieve other tarnsport events around the country had been cancelled due to the cold spell.I look forward to next year.

    Dc-6 G-APSA

So, has the DC-6 been in the hangar over the winter months or out on the ramp? if shes been inside then i guess theres a chance some of that corrosion work has been dealt with, a very good sign indeed! however it may just be that theres a TV deal or something that warrants the seats going back inside.
