thank you mr horowitz
I find it fascinating that you see your self as “just a passenger” during a long sortie did you get chance to leave your seat and appreciate the views and tasks that your crew faced.
Mission a moderate success, didn’t know the dog could run so fast.
**** load of angry wasps.
one smoking nest.
twelve stings……………………………………………..ouch

It seems to me a lot of our driving memories are from our early years.I now have two sons luke is eight, i can only imagine if my passion will be passed on and what his memories will be ,probably the euro fighter at waddo or sitting in a jp with his brother at aeroventure. As for matthew hes two and likes helicopters but hay he also likes tweenies. 😀
First fell in love with aviation,i think following dad to far flung airfields set the seeds. But the most defining moment, was being tucked up in bed as a child and hearing the lone Vulcan rumble over head ,same time every night ,rain or shine, better than any bed time story.
Mr horowitz you said earlier that you were Jewish did you realise the atrocities being committed during the war and what could happen if you bail out over enemy lines.

I visited my first airshow at eight years old, church fenton.Replenished with
warm pop and chicken sandwiches, dads passion started to wear off, years later many air shows from all over the country under our belts,we sat at the crash gate at binbrook drinking warm pop and laughing. That was the last time i saw him laugh and the last time we realy talked.Dad died the next day,i dident fall out of love with my passion it just became too painful.I still looked up at whatever was screaming past instead of wishing i was there, i found my self wishing for the past.
Now thirteen years later i make tentative forays back into my passion ,out of touch not to say the least, but the pain has gone. When on the airfields the old ghost’s are still there but with one other.I now have two sons of my own so the cycle starts again.

Well here it is my most disliked i cannot say hated because if it flies its beautiful (well except wasps)but the sc-7 shorts skyvan gets my vote as if it had a coat of white paint, it would be buzzing around the sky, cutting every one up and thinking it can fly better than any one else in the air.
pheww ,there done it, thank god for janes…………..
