    I bumped into an old lady today,she knew me, as when i was younger i worked with and drank with her dad.
    We passed pleasantries and as i was about to say goodbye,she said i have something of dads I’m sure he’d want you to have.
    A few moments later she came back with an old biscuit tin.
    And told me to open it when i got home.

    I’m now sat (tears streaming down my face) looking at
    British army id cards
    medal ribbons
    several other medals
    lots of photos
    3x 303 rounds
    some letters home
    and
    his 3 para wings
    This man was a gent,a wit and bloody good story teller.

    And without it ever crossing your mind that you could make a claim……:mad:

    Not wishing to start em off but ive counted my scars,bumps and broken bits,even the odd bite,and if i had claimed for each one,id be loaded.
    Mind you off set for every one ive dished out,i may be on a looser…:D

    Cars that you could fix,and that you could see the engine with out removing lots of plastic bits.

    TVs that took just the right amount of time to warm up,ie cup of tea.

    A time when the old folk used to sit on the benches shouting at the kids,not the other way around.
