This “hard on” for the F35 by some is pretty sickly..

But then again the money pit seems endless doesnt it?

Well, thank you for the random, completely out of place comment, random comments person.

FX CRFI mentions a planned IOC in 2030. Flying prototype to be ready by 2020.

What’s the purple section up top of the F-22/F-X section starting in about 2026?

The FX, F-22 replacement. For the F-15E replacement, how about a larger stretched F-35 with 2 engines and maybe some canards for stability …

    Oh wait.

Geez guys, the holes are just created by the skin burning away and decaying and leaving the structure underneath intact. Its pretty obvious.

Talk about reading too much into it.

Wow great link! The air traffic control guys are privy to quite a lot of the military information. He just gave a pilot the location of an mid-air refueling area.

well, I guess Kovy underlined that because of all those F-35 fanboys saying that so called 4th gen aircraft and such are dead meat if sent into combat without stealth platforms clearing the air defences ahead of them…

obviously they can still do their job as needed 😉

Cmon, you can hardly compare Libya’s primitive air defence systems with those being sold today.

    SA-2, 3, 5, 6, 8’s are not comparable to current systems.

AFP reports that French planes are Rafale fighter jets, flying reconnaissance missions across “all Libyan territory”, citing a military source.

Al Jazeera is hearing from French journalists that French fighter jets will begin their strike operations by targetting pro-Gaddafi tanks around Benghazi in order to send a message that they are breaking the siege.

Maybe the media will keep it going …

More on those reports of ground-shelling in Misrata. While the Libyan foreign minister was speaking of a ceasefire, an eyewitness in Misrata, who has asked to remain unnamed, told the BBC there was heavy fighting between rebels and the brigade forces, and that several civilian buildings had been hit. “We are terrified,” she said. “He (Gaddafi) is going to kill us all.”

Yeah, the opposition won’t accept him staying, and he won’t leave willingly. Will be interesting to see how it plays out now.

Remember the history of the F-16: ‘Not a pound for air to ground’. It started as a dogfighter, pure & simple, with no air to ground capability at all. That was added.

It has no inherent advantages over the Typhoon in air to ground. Currently, it has more weapons integrated. That will change.

Only that you can have almost 2 f-16’s for one typhoon. How many more bombs would they carry? How much more airspace would they cover.

Find it interesting that many of the videos of this thing are posted in flash.

*dons tin foil hat* what better way to get US military and aircraft design engineers to download your trojan than to post some vids of a big scary stealth aircraft 🙂

Thanks for the answers guys. I thought that was the case? Interesting about how few TVC fitted aircraft there actually are too.
