So wont there be handling issues with one forward swept wing and the the other in a more conventional sweep?

IMHO Mig 21UT and FL should be grounded. Let us first find the issues with these aircrafts, if possible upgrade them. But whatever we do we must do something. We are loosing a lot of our young guns this year.

actually su-35ub and su-30mki have not much in common, they are designs of two different bureau. In actual fact, mkk has a lot more in common with ub, it’s mentionned as 85% commonality of parts on Chinese forums.

super flanker should be referring to the best flanker available, which would be either su-34 or su-35bm.

Lets also add numbers and operationability… MKI rulezzzzzzzz

Yes they do have software glitches. However they are very rare due to the close scrutiny and debugging of the code during development.

You cant have you MC and FBW haging up in mid flight do you?

IIRC indian Jags had an issue with fluids and valves which was not taken c are of in the algorithms during developments. One crash was saved by cutting off battery supply mid flight. So you never know when a error might occur. thats why the air forces are so fussy about proper development.

Absolutely nothing cheerful for you, what we have missed for all mankind is a possible human record to challenge yet another nature limit. While for the human life and ecological and environmental protection reasons, we do in no need to risk such a stunt. Anyway, even in some unchallenged flights, tragedy of still happens anytime, any occasion, see what’s the news today:

IMHO (that too based on what i have read and people i have disscused it with) the MFD’s of the MKI are pretty reliable. They provide Complete SA on an as and when required basis. The work load is divided in between two pilots. Remember IAF does not have a Specialist Wepons Officer concept. The dials are there cause the aircraft dashboard has lots of space.

And thats the way we wanted it. Now what MKI MkIII will have is anyones guess. but i am sure the dials will reduce. Remeber the MKI is a progessively developing aircraft.

CCS clears mega proposal for procurement for armed forces
    NEW DELHI, MAR 9 (PTI)
In a major initiative to enhance the fire power of the armed forces, the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) tonight cleared a Rs 1,900-crore proposal for procuring 54 ‘Prithvi’ missiles capable of carrying nuclear weapons, jet trainers and interception boats.

The hour-long meeting of CCS, chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, approved the purchase of the surface-to-surface missiles from public sector unit Bharat Dynamics Limited, Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee told reporters here.

The missiles which can carry conventional as well as nuclear weapons in a range of 250 km, would be acquired by the Indian Air Force (IAF).

The CCS also approved acquisition of 12 Intermediate Jet Trainers (IJTs) from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Bangalore, at a cost of Rs 486.82 crore.

The meeting also agreed to purchase 11 Interceptive Boats for the Coast Guard and this would cost over Rs 200 crore, Mukherjee said.

Besides Mukherjee, the CCS meeting was attended by among others Home Minister Shivraj Patil and Finance Minister P Chidambaram.
