99+32 (G-BZGK) is the only one out of the two with a current Permit to Fly. It’s sometimes based at Manston, sometimes at Wevelgem, Belgium…
If I understand you correctly, the microphone assembly is a push fit into the rubber mask, and is secured, as Sycamore rightly says, by a ring of copper wire (there is a recess for this in the rubber mask).
…..and its faster, without that huge nosewheel in the way, and it means that the pilot has to do something with the ruder pedals instead of just resting his feet on them:D
Looks better too.
I would like to see the other blade before giving any definite comment…
Thorp T-211 G-BYJF
Eric Thurston was not killed in the Tawney owl crash….
I think the organiser should go to Starbucks and have a coffee:D
Jack,
Any chance of you posting the next page of the MACR……..?
I believe it has further information which may clarify things.. So let’s see it then.
I have found when on these forums that:
a) everyone thinks they know the right answer, when in fact only a small proportion actually do..
b) People take things literally.
c) being proved incorrect is not a personal attack on the size of your manhood.
d) like religion, things that happen in wartime get misreported over time, and may even be incorrect AT the time! Do we really think that it’s possible for Moses to hold back water etc etc. Do we really think that we, (the allies) didnt make mistakes like the Germans did?
So lets all be thankful that Maurice Hammond has done another superb job with this one.. For all you pedants out there, he did have a plan to paint it Lime green with purple spots and racing numbers on the side but I told him he might attract even more dumb comments on here 🙂
It’s a flyer, so lets be thankful and until we get evidence to prove otherwise, 5Q-B looks good to me
Glad I never went. Tried to fly there yesterday but decided against it after looking at the forecast. Instead, spent 2 days getting sunburnt in kent 🙂
It does again beg the question as a couple of years later DET 4 operated full time from Mildenhall even though the British goverment had always refused full time operations of the SR71 in the UK?
I remember in 1980 seeing a U2 take off from Mildenhall as I was driving past, and later on that same year, seeing an SR71 do the same… Both very early morning flights. Both types were based there full time then..
Bloke in the auster looks scared though!!
So would you if you had no door!
No work to do?:D
Seething, Thorpe Abbots…….
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz:rolleyes:
This is a bit like the schoolboy game of Top trumps…..
I’ll have a Cri-Cri and a Twin Comanche, and spend the rest on boats, fast women and fast cars – less hassle than aeroplanes (well, not sure about the women!)
Aha!!! The rumour mill finally gets round to finding out…
It’s true, allegedly, it landed at a private strip in Kent and ran off the end hitting a fence post (allegedly). ‘Rumour’ has it that damage is extensive..
Don’t think you’ll see it in the next 18 months or so:rolleyes:
Propstrike,
Allegedly, the grass was dry, the wind was 15kts+ from the south
5 blader….?
There’s a Glasair flying around at the moment with a turbine and 5 blade prop (G-ICBM), but i remember Finmere as being rather short
