Same reason Sparrow failed badly in Vietnam?
There is a whole battery of reasons why the R-27 did not work well in Africa, one that could be applied to a whole bunch of AAMs.
it perform worse than sparrow…
Yes. No.
Of course not. NATO is a defensive structure and Turkey was not under attack but rather Turkey was the attacker.
still that is the impression I got, Turk sacrify their plane to drag NATO set it foot to Syria for their interest
how many thousands they pruchase ? 3B sounds very much much too much for trainer plane
Well, in that case People Republic have to relinquished 50% of China present territory, since basically that’s what Han Dynasty territory is 😀
dear ananda
do u remember our ancestor sail till madagascar, southern part of africa and then there is majapahit hegemony till kampuchea region and that pamalayu were our vassal ? must claim all that arent we ? 😀
F-102 and F-106 carried missiles internally as a way to reduce drag.
F-106 is amongst the craziest fighter ever…*AIR-2A genie nuclear rocket*
The new stealth coating developed for F-35 will go into F-22 as well.

It is much better and will not melt as you claimed even while super-cruising at M1.8. Don’t derail this thread also.

In the west it is commonly presented as a dichotomy between the absolute superiority of ‘western’ values (rarely defined) and cultural relativism. Obviously this is a false dichotomy, but even if one were to accept the basic thesis that ‘west is best’ your point would be well taken: the stridency of the west in promoting its values abroad is precisely what engenders such resistance against those values. Nobody likes being told what to do.
but here is aircraft treat, not political treat nor political threat…:o
The display appears to be LCD with pressure operation, as opposed to electrostatic a la iPad- so should be OK. Below is what appears to be Russia’s first commercially available OLED EFIS display. This may suffer from premature blue LED degradation, a problem believed to have only recently been overcome by World leaders SAMSUNG.
Erm…did you mean Vitaly Petrov?
More pics:
I more wonder why helirussia sponsoring caterham… that team is ssoooooooooooooooooooooooooo back on the grid 1 of the slowest and most boring car in formula 1…. Why they want their image will go down with the team
Now I am not a fan of the way China does things but you really cannot blame them for a problem that is basically your own making.
Some people say its the popular western culture that won the Cold War, the West’s biggest weapon is its movies, music, art and culture which is invariably copied by emerging economies.
The second issue is when a people try to keep their own culture however unfair it may seem to western educated people like you and me, they are ridiculed. So the Arabs are criticized for treatment of women, Afghans for that their hatred to certain sports. Indians for their weird customs etc.
I cannot blame China or any country for holding onto its roots when there is a constant attack by west on eastern values and belief systems.
but in other forum I follow even in a chinese forum most chinese are polite and rational…. none will compare JF-17 with F-22 (not even with whorenet)…
MIG-29 is cheaper to operate than larger Su-27, and they have domestic repair facilities. I see no problem operating both types, in small numbers, which is what they do.
Between the retiring of Su-24, the Su-25 remains the only ready A2G asset, I think retiring it would be madness.
Certainly Ukraine feels they need it, since they use rare funds to overhaul several.
Flanker is cheaper to operate if you have large nation….
in the long run it is more durable and expandable too, plus engine with longer MTBF…
for those reason Malaysia fond of their Su-30MKM and not their MiG-29N
Didn’t wanted to reply here , becasue this thread is really useless( based on what i can read here ) , but i’ll just say that me i HOPE J-20 will achieve IOC before 2018, just to make the yanks more gealous and be proven wrong once more.:D
Btw , i know the yanks say J-20 won’t get into service before 2018, but MSphere can you point me to the chinese source saying the same ? Thanks.:)
If you want ur squadron flight a plane that might have unknown crack, have no radar, have malnutrited engines, have avionic unwired then the plane can have IOC before 2018….
unfortunately high brass of PLAAF dont want this so they put optimistic date of 2018 and still expect their precalculated few years delay…
I believe you cannot claim that either. Probably it will be useful for all sides ( or for those who actually want to find out what is the truth ) to have a fairly neutral stance on this situation.:)
Neutral means back to UNCLOS which China claim is totally baseless….
take 200 miles from your mainland, and stay there! and that is ZEE, still a free sea your right just to explore and exploit it, not to capture or stop people passing it….
Supercruise is part (at least partially) of the stealth requirement…
The F-22 can drop SDBs (about 8 of them it seems) with independent targeting,
It’s supposed to cost less on logistic etc, not on acquisition cost (we knew from the start it wasn’t going to happen).
yea. supercruise give multiple advantage of long range speed, range, and dont have to use afterburner (which make ur plane blip big) when thing getting hot….
Pakistan do not have advance science skill like China because its society is religious one not scientific one, so China have to help them build aircraft, tank, nuclear weapon. China respect the path Pakistan choosed, but also acknowledge Pakistan need help to develop science. But Pakistan cannot be 100 percent trusted because they work with US too, so cannot send stealth fighter or half stealth fighter like J-10 so China help Pakistan make their own line of weapon that why Pakistan usually do not use same equipment like China air force.
not really…
Pakistan inability is not about being religious but about corruption, sectarianism, warmongering, poverty, got too much interesting neighbour, vengeful leaders and society and illiteracy molded into one….
On one hand it is good, because by that time lots of things would have matured.
The missiles would have been mature. The propulsion would be the Gen next engines. AESA would have been mature and probably with new semiconductor materials. Avionics would be mature. And probably would have been remedied against EMP of 21st December 2012 superflare from the Mayan hall of fame. But it is really far away. On the other hand in that time frame the aggressor may no longer be the F22s or F35s but some lifeless drone piloted by some gamer freak half way round the earth:eek:.
I still beleived in piloted aircraft…
with UCAV/piloted drone…. one huge jammer aircraft and all your drones are dead or even turned against you…..
