So based upon your analysis from these pics, what is the RCS then?
0.01m2…til you could prove otherwise :diablo:
would french n swedish start their 5gen fighter project after this ?….
nice sideview!!!!
They’re only 4.5 generation jets; they were technically outdated a long time ago. This PAK FA is most definitely a fifth-gen and I do go on record at risk to my own life, limb, and liberty and say this thing would decimate the eurocanards. :diablo:
*ducks*
you forgot the ‘with kill ratio 1 to 8’ in the kill eurocanard things 😀
cant wait the pic…
cant wait the scale model….
but still hopes it will looks better than what most artist impression depicts 🙂
The size of that radar..
I’ve been searching the web, but there is very little info out there..
How capable is it in A2A mode? Thanks
what radar the su-34 use ?
excellent bird but come a bit too late IMO (4th gen fighter come @ 5th gen era)
If it looks sexy enough we could call it Fapfap 😮

PAK FA Makes First Taxi Run at KnAAPO Airfield
Source: 24.12.09, Avia.RU
The Russian fifth generation future fighter, the future tactical aircraft aviation complex (PAK FA) , has made its first taxi runs at the KnAAPO ((Komsomol’sk-on-Amur Aviation Production Association)) airfield, Lenta.RU reports.
However, it is not being specified when in particular the airplane’s roll out took place and when its tests began. After the roll-out, the airman started the engines and the airplane began moving along the runway. During the taxi run, the PAK FA was braked several times. Two taxi runs were made in all.
Only KnAAPO employees observed the test. As is expected, the PAK FA will make several more taxi runs before the end of 2009, and make first flight in January 2010.
Earlier Russia’s vice premier, Sergey Ivanov, announced that the tests of the Russian fifth generation fighter will begin at the end of 2009 – start of 2010. The deputy defense minister, Vladimir Popovkin, announced in mid-September 2009, that the PAK FA, also known as the T-50 and “Article 701,” will begin to reach the Russian air force inventory from 2015.

no photo leakage 🙁
TI sights for T-90 as well. This will end in a white elephant. If the ship will be sent were it belongs – Pacific or North fleet it will be ruined in 10 years at the most. If it will stay in Black or Baltic Sea – what’s the use of it? launch major assault against Ukraine, Georgia or Lithuania? They are crazy…
there is nothing crazy about ivan rogov supplement
what is that ’10 years ruins’ thing
Russian Navy to buy 24 MiG-29K carrier-based fighters
MOSCOW, October 9 (RIA Novosti) – Russia’s Navy will buy at least 24 MiG-29K (Fulcrum-D) fighters to be deployed on the Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier, an unnamed Defense Ministry official said on Friday.
He added that deliveries of the carrier-based multirole fighters would start in 2010.
The MiGs will subsequently replace the Su-33 (Flanker-D) carrier-based fighters, even though their service life does not expire until 2025.
Military analyst Konstantin Makiyenko suggested that production of new Su-33 aircraft was possible but not cost-effective, given the small production volumes, whereas considering that India has already contracted 16 MiG-29K’s and could place an order for another 28, the latter option is more financially viable.
The 24 aircraft will cost an estimated $1 billion.
sure mig-29k better than su-33..(not the performance but naval flanker too big for the kuts).but is it wise to buy NOW ?
there will be PAK-FA – naval in the next 10 years so those expensive fulcrum will be obsolete just in 10 years (if not already)…
Sarcasm old boy :p , point is sending out the Kirovs is a waste of time. Like everyone else at present the main role at sea is anti-piracy patrols. Unless i’ve missed the report about somali pirates launching mass saturation attacks in the air I really cannot see what is to be acheived by reactivating two massively overmanned battlecruisers in order to provide area defence against an imagined foe
granit salvo from 3 kirov would end piracy problem forever….

I was thinking the same thing regarding the GSh-30-1. Although, why would they even want two guns in the first place? The GSh-30-1 proved to be extremely accurate during FULCRUM or FLANKER testing (I forget which), to the point that they felt that a reduced ammo load was acceptable, and that even 150 rounds might have been overkill.
maybe those gun are turreted , or backward firing and forward firing, or simply because 2 better than 1 :diablo:
I would also assume that the MIg 29K will be less capable than the Su 33 SM. May be that would change when the Mig gets its AESA.
yeah but actually flanker is tooo heavy for russian medium carrier that dont have catapult. It cannot carry heavy load. MiG-29K/35K can because it is lighter weight…..
in the other hand, with PAK-FA get positive progress, some clever head might think it would better wait navalized PAK-FA (if any) since MiG-29 is obsolete by design…..
