The Iran does fly F-14As. If that are operated in a true sense is another question, when it does come to national pride. 😉

they are operated in true sense, shot down quite a number of iraqi warplanes….

Ok, RCS is one of many better things about beeing naturally small, but theres more….
A bigger plane is easier to spot(last time i checked, dont have a reference on that),
a big engine that propulse a big plane does burn more fuel, that also light up the sky with IR.
Ok, things can be consealed to a point… but the fact is a bigger plane makes bigger signature.. on all accounts.

the best would be a small jet, the size of a peanut, the firepower of a b-52, and the range of an empty A380, and the speed of X-15, the turns of a Mig29 OVT 🙂
Of course it is easier to fit bigger electronics into a big plane and more fuel. But the Ew or radar of a small fighter vs a bigger is not bigger is better.. the power of it is more and more the software..when it comes to fuel fuelfraction would be the important factor.

    ^^
that is depend on the tech level….
F-22 use twin big engine yet it dont have much IR emission….
well for india now to be stealth UAV sized stuff is the only way….

The latest official estimate was early 2009 by Pogosyan I think.

India has what is called the courtesy culture. It basically means people will tell you what they think you want to hear instead of the real news you may not want to hear. So basically if you’re not polite enough to give them that courtesy, it’s seen as an intentional insult.

dont western too, have thing such as ‘right or wrong it is my country’ ? 😀

If one look att the LCA program it seems to me as the single biggest obstacle has been the indian politicians. I am sorry if this offends the indian forumers, but I think it’s obvious that their politicians mostly has used LCA to score political points. The second priority has been to save political face.
    .

then there is a problem from the end user. LCA general performance quite probably imferior to early F-16 . India air force already have much better items such mirage 2000, mig-29 and su-30mki. such air force it actually would not want and dont need LCA….

hmm wonder why india tend to slower when it is rich…
back in 70s they only need few year to create HF-24 marut and build HAL ajeet …and while those thing not the best but it is work….

A claim which is based on what?

what is superior on it ? it is overexpensive, and after hundreds years of development reliability still a problem 😮

I disagree, with the way Indian establishment is once they get PAK FA they will ditch MCA even if its superior. Like Arjun and T 90

arjun is inferior to t-90 in every aspect…..

With such large over hangs and Russia’s limited experience with Carrier Design. I hope it doesn’t have any stability problems……………

Personally, I am afraid this ship is going to be a long-term nightmare for the Indian Navy. (and a expensive one at that):(

    Just my opinion…..;)

40 years developing carrier is not enough experience

2013 is ridiculous, 2015 to 2017 is more realistic, with 2020 being the safe date for true squadron operational capability.

Please name Russian/Soviet aircraft that achieved IOC 4 years after first flight!

MiG-3, in 4 month perhaps :diablo:
