I agree and think China would be wiser to purchase more SSK’s and SSN’s. Than to tie up alot of resources building Aircraft Carriers. As by doing so will just increase the current arms race going on in Southeast Asia. Which, China just can’t win……….
why china cant win ? just looks at their economic growth and euro/dollar treasury….
Me think make carrier would bad move though, especially for China…
CHina official criticized JMSDF development and said that ‘if they begun build carrier, they will invade soon’. Now if China begun build carrier, others may use the same logic and conclude that China will be next invader nation. Bad relation will cancel/disturb China economic growth
Just wondering…Where?
Indonesia?
Africa? (IMHO: Chinese colonizing Africa might be a good thing, in a few countries it can’t get much more messed up than it is now…:diablo: )
New Zealand (Yes, I know it’s not a third world county…except in terms of air power)
Tibet?
Indonesia ? could you explain why China would project CVBG to my nation ?
Oh….. but you mention TIBET too!…. so I dont take it seriously :diablo:
I never know China navy ship could climb Tibet, I must check it my Guiness books….. ๐
You are still not quite right….. ๐ฎ
You are confusing the Sukhoi in-house numbering sequence with the Military designation.
The Su-27UB (military designation) has the Sukhoi number T10U (NOT UB).
The T10B is actually the Cyrillic letter V – so it is T10V, the military designation of which is Su-27IB (meaning Istrebitel Bombardirovchik/Fighter Bomber) – later changed to Su-34.
The Su-27KUB is Sukhoi in-house designation T10KU.
There are no such aircraft as T10IB, T10UB, T10KUB
Just trying to put the record straight……
Ken
Ken… just want to add info (feel free to fix me/hammer me if im wrong… :D)
T only belong to prototype. T mean tregolnoye (triangle) but sukhoi use it not only for delta winged plane but for all plane that is not swept winged but then frogfoot prototype (T-8) only use T designation.. not sure why. Lets assume that its part of FSU to confuse the world ;). Other designation is S used onb swept wing aircraft prototype.
the following character…
what is V in ‘T-10V’ ?
I know KUB = korablny-uchebnik (education-shipboard), M (modivikatsiyonny – upgrade. Used on SU-35 (30?) prototype (?)–the T-10M
S–like on SU-27S. No one know what this stand for but some say this used on plane intended for VVS as opposed to P designation used on PVO aircraft
not sure why the PAK-FA use I designation… ๐ (I from istrebityel). Probably because SUkhoi have trouble with wing classification, as is frogfoot case ๐
They all should back to math class and learn basic geometry ๐
Let’s be serious here $12Bil is not going to get you any serious stealth aircraft indigenous development. If i were Koreans, i would question the amount of my tax dollars going toward this. These days, everybody who wants money to develop combat aircraft will claim “stealth”…imagine telling your leaders otherwise.
12 bil gonna make stealth plane outside USA….
it is about the same number Russia and China spent for their stealth project…
tough question *cough* what is DOn 2 and A135 ?:(
call me stupid but please answer ๐ฎ
high conrads….
what software do you use to make those drawing ?
it is good but the line should be smoother. Looks like badly resized
hi Mconrad, there are few info and photo about FPB-57 here…
it seems nav III= early nav IV
http://www.cvl.iis.u-tokyo.ac.jp/~kazmi/KRI.html
Hi, you are right and im wrong about the Andau, Mandau is name of other ship class…. sorry….
and thx for the pics…
Hi again,
Thanks for the pictures.
Here is first part of the next round: the FPB 57 as build for/in Indonesia and the Nigerian version that is reportedly back in operations.
Hope you like them. On a site note I think it is quiet funny that the SAR version of the Indonesian FPB 57 has the camouflage pattern which the military (ASW and gun only) versions donยดt have. BTW does somebody know why Nigeria bought 3 almost equally armed and equipped Combatante III and FPB 57 each at nearly the same time? Wouldnยดt it make more sense in building 6 unites of just one class?
Regards.
Hi conrad, thx for the pic of fpb57 of my nation (Indonesia)…
we have 5 type of FPB-57. (called nav-I to nav-V). Soon when we acquire brahmos or other heavy ASM then we may have nav VI ๐
btw do you have top view projection of Indonesia FPB-57 ?
thx in advance
alil nitpick : Andau class should be Mandau class… Mandau is traditional borneo short sabre
ps : the SAR (?) variant is camoed because our navy love the camo, and whatever ship in TNI-AL, as long as it have gun, will be used to pursue pirates/illegal fisher/smugler so camo still useful for them….
[QUOTE=koxinga;1089918]As Ja pointed out, the remainder Sigma class corvettes have are under construction. There were earlier attempts to change these notably to Russian vessels presumably due to vested interests of those involved..
[QUOTE]
not necessarily vested interest…
the price of the programs would buy few Talwar or Jiang Wei FRIGATES
150m wont purchase a frigate…. That is the price of small frigate
it just ‘slip of the tongue’ (and that is where indonesia DoD reputation vanished) —
And for the navy, a corvette is a corvette is a corvette… in Indonesia everyone call it corvette
chief of navy recently criticize the purchase (signed in the era of former chief) and he said he wants a ‘bigger ship, frigates’
And– Kornas is different program with Sigma
The Kornas will entirely built in Indonesia
However the plan is dead and life and dead again not sure when (or even if) it will became reality… maybe next 5-10 years (im skeptical )
garry, Actually I dont have bet sentiments toward russian plane…
the reason I asking because im curious why, unlike their fighter, it seems very difficult for Russian transporter to sell anywhere other than their traditional market….
The saddest thing for me is Il-96, which is AFAIK is as good as Airbus A-300 (or even better)…. but it fails anywhere even in Russia sell only few (probably due to 90s economic turmoil though)
it seems ppl around the world still suspicious about russian (transport) planes conform (important for airliner) and probably past record on their ASS (after sales service)
I also think it’s absouletly ridiculous that they haven’t found the aircraft yet! ๐ก
nothing ridiculous about it…
the plane ruins is not found in the place they should be..
usually in sea crash there were a lot of thing floating, dead or alive, but in this incident there is NO trace at all, no shoes, no dead corpse, no usual floating debriz, no rubber boat as if the plane just diving and sinking as it is….
also since the navy only have Nomad crap and very few more advanced CN-212-MPA well they are not very ideal property to look 4 sinking plane. Only after a few parchim come we have hopes to find it (in case it sunk in the sea)
Concerning Adam Air, last year 16 pilot tried to quit the company saying the plane is not maintained properly and navigation system is often dead in the air. Adam Air sue them all
Actually there were 4 Sukhois delivered – 2x27s and 2x30MKs
The following batch of 12 MKs was sold to India, due to the reason mentioned by SOC.
You got event mixed….
what is resold to India are 1997’s 12 Su-30K (without ‘M’ –basically Su-27 with few improvement + refueling probe). The purchase is cancelled due to Asian crisis…. After the tsunami we never cancel any purchase…. just delay it till money available again that is now
Sir, the sonar station has detected a Torpedo…
The Gepard (Project 11661) escort, Project 11541 escort, and Project 956 Sovremmeny destroyer all have RBUs fitted.
gepard, 11541 and 956 are not new ships….
they are 15-20 years old design….
would the really new 20380/20382, and new frigate/destroyer have RBU of some sort ? udav ?
