Russia has decided to join a tender on the delivery of six light fighter jets to the Philippines with its new Yakovlev Yak-130 Mitten combat trainer, state-run arms exporter Rosoboronexport said on Wednesday.

Will Yak-130 snatch this light-Fighter Tender?
is filipine serious this times ? they keep buy-cancel-buy-cancel for almost 2 decades…
Russia better also offer 2nd-hand su-25 or fitter at ultra cheap price that will be affordable for filipino
New Mi-24s.
looks like any other Hind-E…
any upgrade over the standard Mi-24/35 ? or Russia simply repurchase same old stuff again
Great news!
Weird news..
The Su-27SM3 allready sports the AL-31FM1 and the Su-34 does not really need any more thrust than the AL-31FM engines for its intended role. No point in installing an engine with higher fuel consumption, i take endurance over speed any day.
IIRC newer engine have longer technical life so while you spend few more fuel you save engine….
because it is not made by Sikorsky :p
now carrier… what next ? make a kirov style battlecruiser and call it yamato and musashi ? 😀
According to Air International.(Piotr Butowski)
There are only 2 or 3 Su-34 flying with AL-31FM1 engines.. Apparently there are no need for the extra thrust on the Su-34 at this point. Can anybody verify this?
“The Su-34-01 was on State Trail with AL-31FM1 engines, rated 132.38kN. As a result, the aircraft’s acceleration was improved, the service seiling was increased by 1000m. However these parameters was not that important and therefore, standard AL-31F engines were retained for serial Su-34s.”
iirc AL-31FM1 not only have more power but also have longer lifetime…
why they choose old less durable engine
Any proof for both please !! (and please not RIA, LENTA, or some other obscure “sources” !)
Deino
RIAN is good….
More news on Tu-160 (and engines) to be produced again:

I dont believe anything strategypage….
why this matters
truth is, every modern fighter is illegally subsidized…
This should help you out with your dilemma TR1 🙂 I don’t know how accurate it is and where I found it 😮
I don’t think anything else but unguided rockets and bombs could be packed on these dual pylons (as this scheme suggests anyway).
R27 is not unguided rockets, and if it able to carry 2x R27 there is no reason it could carry 2x rvv-ae (and the rvv-ae in the chart are assymetric that is weird)
The whole Russian light helicopter portfolio is a sad story. Nothing they have is internationally competitive. Domestic orders are placed only to keep the industry alive.
only because they never make one since Mi-2…
oh… and civilian Helix is quite popular, but only for specific purpose so the demand are low…
Too big in what way? They have a huge maritime territory to cover thats disputed with many countries. They NEED RANGE
.
which is why vietnam already a flanker user 😉
Yes grey is composite. After a rapid comparison..it doesnt seem to me the % has increased though..
