… These planes didn’t have those GPS like sensors either. …
Are You sure ??? I think they have !!!
Deino
Can’t say these planes are prototypes. Red numbers are generally temporary factory applied numbers, used to designate planes within a production batch. The J-10s heading to the 3rd Division didn’t seem to have the sensor fairing, so I guess this is a new development.
I agree with You as those asrn’t prototypes ! For my opinion they are just factory numbered machines during a test flight prior to painting …. would be interesting what number they will get ! 😀
I was just comparing some of the 3. Division birds and at least the J-10B which was shown very close has this feature already as do the J-10A’s on the lineup !
Maybe they are for a second regiment within the 3. Division or just later amchines for the first regiment …. or the single seaters are for another division as all their numbers are errased !
Cheers, Deino
Another image of JF-17 PT06 from a different angle.
1st time we see DSI modified JF-17 with AAM
Seems to be another picture on no. 06 … as the 04 carried the FC-1-title on the tail and 04 on the fuselage !
Additional here are two very fine pictures of a Q-5B and Q-5D posted by “=GT” at the CDF (take a look there for the original size as they are too big to upload them here !) !!!!
Cheers, Deino 🙂
PS: Thanks a lot mixman for the translation !!! 😉
Maybe a completely silly question on the side ! :p
Were there ever considerations besides the US to acquire the Lavi for the USAF itself ???
If I remember correctly the USAF was in search for a A-10-replacement during the mid-1980s and not only a CAS-optimised F-16A and the A-7F were under consideration !!
Cheers, Deino
You still have a pic of the F-16I to compare? Deino?
Yupp … and a picture of a resin conversion for the Block-52 EW-spine with the elliptical “GPS-dome”, which is placed further in the middle !
Therea re also some other minor changes like the blade-antenna on the spine is replaced by a slightly longer one as You can see very fine on the no. 06 yellow bird !
… will search further ! 😀
…. I do wonder what that device is on the back of the canopy.
Maybe a GPS-antenna as it looks quite similar in shape to the Israeli one !
That Y-8 image, where are those planes at?
Sorry no more information !
Cheers, Deino
Something more by “Don Juan” via CDF !!
Sorry Deino I wasnt being sarcastic- just asking!
No need to apologise … as I know that I’m (maybe :diablo: ) a little bit obsessed by that bird !!
… but I think there may be something new ! A white antenna look-alike (looks like the GPS dome on the Israeli F-16D) behind the cockpit as You can see on the no. 06 and no. 3 (below) !!!!! 😮
Here are two more … 😉
Is there any particular significance to these pictures Deino?
Only that they are “new” (at least for me) …. but if You take a look at other treads therea are many pictures without “any particular significance” other than to be new or interesting !
Maybe one thing … of significance is that huge cockpit-display (?) for the back seater in the J-10B !
Cheers, Deino 😀
Just found at CDF posted by “zyun8288” !!! 😀
Cheers, Deino 😎
Hey … I think that base isn’t new and has been shown here … but just a closer look !
Here are the coordinations: 40°23’48.22″N / 99°46’40.38″E Dingxin airbase acting as AWACS test facility within the CFTE
… I just added “some” of the aircraft …. at least 3 more J-10 !!! :diablo:
CHeers, Deino
Just found at the latest ILA-2006 in Berlin and posted by Uwe (alias Block_5OM) in the German FlugzeugForum ….. sadly he has no more pictures !!
Cheers, Deino 😉
Sorry … I maybe was so excited esp. over the picture that I was too un-careful !!
[Careful modus on]To say, that there are just some recent announcements that the plan to finalise the second one is still ongoing [Careful modus off] would surely be much more appropriate !
Anyway thanks for the Holyday-greetings, hope Your can enjoy the 3rd october too …
Cheers, Deino 😀
