Thanks for the reply ….
Back to the strange black plane-model ….. could it be that this is the same model ????
Deino ๐
does anyone have any info …. esp. a picture, drawing, … of the proposed T-204P ???
Deino ๐
Sorry to repost this picture …. but do You have an idea what’s shown ????
Deino
An interesting picture of an actual flying model on a canard-delta design. It looks like it has working control surfaces. But doesn’t look like it had a motor so it’s probably a towed model. Weathering is pretty extensive so it ws tested quite a bit.
The Y-8 model probably dates the picture from the early 1980s.
Hmmm …. quite interesting … looks like a model to test a specific aerodynamic configuration with the airintakes aerodynamicly fared over like the rear part of the nozzle !!
I reminds me to some other “strange” models not related to a specifc programe !
… but just to add another question: What are these other planes in the background ??
Just found in the “Vietnam-tread” … and some more info could be here:

The latest AFM issue said the Azarakhsh is a “10-15%” larger rework of the F-5 with shoulder intakes and two RD-33s!!!
Now, the MiG-29 has two RD-33s. It weighs in at 10900kg empty. Or about twice as much as a F-5 at 4900kg empty weight.
A 15% larger F-5 would be about 5700 kg.
So two RD-33s on that would give the Azarakhsh an astronomical TWR from two 8300 kg RD-33 engines. That’s a 5700kg plane with a thrust of 16600kg.
Realistically, there is simply no way for a F-5, even one that is 15% larger to take two RD-33s. It has to be the size of a MiG-29 and, even at its size, the MiG-29 has a problem with endurance and range.
But an interesting development if Iran is attempting to enlarge the F-5 and give it a set of more powerful engines.
This is really an interesting discussion ! …. Some time ago, when the first reports of the Azarakhsh came up, I always thought that the Azarakhsh will be an Iranian F-20-look alike with one RD-33 ….
The years went by ….. and all what became clear so far is that still some Western magazines – AirInternational, AFM and esp. FLIGHT International – still believe that the Azarakhsh is a “10-15%” larger rework of the F-5 with shoulder intakes and two RD-33s !!!”
Everything I know – or better I believe – so far is from the ACIG team and esp. TOM, that the original Azarakhsh is a copied F-5E and that the maybe Azarakhsh II-called inproved version features two tails instead of one !
There seems to exist no RD-33 powered Azarakhsh at all !!
Deino ๐
PS: anyway, this RD-33 powered Azarakhsh F-20-look alike would be something very nice for a “what-if” modeling project ! ๐
this is just a mock-up ! ๐
Deino
Thank You very much !!!!! ๐
Deino
try eurofighter.com
Thanks for that idea … but I already tried that and there are for service airctaft” only 6 picture which are quite old !! ๐ก
Deino
Hmm …. I’m not sure if this is not a PS ! … esp. the small intake-pylons are looking strange !
Deino ๐
I think the whole discussion if real or fake is useless as here it’s qiute clear a CGI ! :diablo:
But there’s one thing interesting on this, CGI as it is the first i’ve ever seen to show the PL-4 in both suggested version the semi-active radar guided and the IR-version !
Quite remarkable !
Deino ๐
These are clearly J-8II’s trapped under a cover … and for my opinion thereโs not even something photoshoped on the engines … the picture is just to grainy so that from this angle it looks like a J-10 esp. because of the very deep hanging tarpaulin in front of the intakes !
Sorry … but no Pakistani J-10’s !
Deino ๐
Thanks to “Lothringer” from the German “FLUGZEUGFORUM” I got the final issue no. 418 !!!
Here are the comparetive drawings of the Mirage 4000 !! ๐ฎ
Deino ๐
This must be the super-secret German-Sino Makrojet!
At CDF and CMF they say it should be amock up or the prototype of the Hongdu L-15 !!!
Deino ๐
Thanks … but do You know from what programe this fighter is ??
Was it suggested as a pre-stealthy F-14 replacement ???
