So back to Russian Airforce news again.

    https://fightersweep.com/3684/3684/

VKS to receive 50 more Su-35S. This is also important due to Indonesia and China is mulling(more) contracts for the Su-35S.
    …..

Do You have a source for this? China negotiating on more Su-35s is popping up from time and time again, but so far I haven’t seen any reliable confirmation.

    Thanks,

Come on guys … can you please stay on topic?

This constant off topic posts concerning a possible Spanish purchase of either F-35 or whatever is off 😡

Pardon, but to try to calculate the potential for a certain country to built an aircraft carrier by the factors of land-mass area and population is plain ridiculous.

And given the facts that certain Russian media outlets were proposing or even reporting the Russian Navy WILL operate a fleet of supercarriers soon or whatever and nothing happened all these years I’m more inclined to believe this is yet another PR stunt than a real project including the development of a VSTOL type in parallel to a navalised Su-57.

As such this is more for the own peoples …

Unless they plan to replace the Mig-29 and other less types like Su-25 with UCAV and as that link says Deputy PM for Defence Industry Borisov says “No doubt, this is the future for all aircraft-carrying ships and a new fleet of airplanes will be needed and precisely for this purpose various technologies are being used to provide for shortened take-off and landing or simply a vertical take-off,” the vice-premier said.

They are looking at VTOL/STOL types for AC and perhaps even as replacement for the Mig – 29 and Su-25.

That was not my question? Especially in mind of other fantastic reports previously reported so often by politicians.

Again: How likely is this to reach hardware status?

I wonder if they will use Id 30 engine for VTOL aircraft ? Paralay ?

And how likely is it to reach any hardware status nor to become operationa??? IMO = Zero

Ähhm … are we still in the “franco-german-next-generation-fighter” thread or has this become yet another F-35 vs €F discussion pool? 😡

Germany defence budget is not increasing and its high tech workforce is shrinking. Germany put sanctions on arms exports to some countries. this will further suppliers out of business.
Germanic factories will abandon countries where even hint of energy and metal sanctions from Russia.

    https://www.kyivpost.com/ukraine-politics/ukraine-out-of-the-running-as-site-for-new-volkswagen-and-skoda-car-plant.html

It is still in development and export still not priority. you are assuming everyn weopon system from day 1 need export.
There is no export of Su-34 yet. but it has biggest nose of fighter, biggest tail bigger than nose of fighters, it can carry big pods and big fuel tanks, it has biggest hump for carry electronics.

just to remind you – even if I’m well aware, that playing quartets game is all for you – size does not always counts.

But yes, you are right it has supa big on everything … if that’s enough for you, then it’s fine, but leave the serious discussion to the adults.

Yes. AL-31FN Series 3 for all J-10C from the start.

Indeed … the only problem right now is: With these numbers of all J-10B and Cs known and even assuming the J-20 is using the same engine, there are way more fighters operational than engines purchased; at least confirmed.

Myanmar will receive the JF-17B twin-seater at first

Guys, yesterday I was surprised, now – if true – I am ashamed. :apologetic:

Already yesterday one small comment noted, this aircraft no. 17-07 is not real, but in fact it would be a photoshop-fake, based on an image of the #03 prototype.
Now I just got note via a reliable source, this accusation is correct.

Seems as if someone made a perfect PS-job and I’m sure, he/she has some fun during the last hours.

If you scale fuel against fleet numbers both the PLAAF and PLAN have grown considerably over the last two decades and continue to scale over the next. China is oil dependent yet see no issue with growing usage beyond imports growth. Further add their domestic consumption growth. They have an unavoidable problem. Their only hope is too get Western countries to scale back consumption… which explains their carbon agenda support.

Again; what’s your source for this? especially since the overall fleet by pure numbers of tactical fighters has been reduced in recent years compared to the hundreds of J-6s, J-7s and J-8s.
So what makes you believe that there is an issue and even more please explain why the PLAAF should retire the J-10 even if there are still too many older J-7s and J-8s operational.

Your post simply does not make sense.

They do not have fuel logistics to sustain that many active units unless they scale down to a majority J-10 fleet.

The PLAAF has overstretched its food chain since its origins. Old habits die hard.

pardon, but why do you think so? Just a negative comment only to comment or do you have any source and facts? Even more why retire J-10 if there are still hundreds of older J-7/-8s around?

You have got me confused now Deino, Why was it that the J-20 won when SAC’s proposal was much better? Is this the Chinese equivalent of the ATF program where the better plane lost.

Sorry, but who said whwn and where that SAC’s proposal was better?? At least and surely not me… I only said it was larger.

From what I know it was in nothing better except in dimensions – which might have helped in some fan-Forums for playing quartets game!? – and consequently CAC’s proposal was Chosen.

I can understand why the Chinese don’t want the FC-31 variant, it lost out to the J-20. I don’t know why Shenyang keep on trying to force the FC-31 onto the PLAAF.

Just a minor correction … the FC-31 is not the design that lost against the J-20, SAC’s proposal was a much larger design allegedly looking like this CG:
