world has changed in few weeks?. the only thing changed is rise of Oil and Gold price.

Then please tell this the Ukrainians after Russia annected the Crimea, tell this the Iraqi people, which are now not only loosing a covernbment but most likely even a national entity, tell this so many other countries and peoples who were effected by political changes … and not only by the fall and rise of oil and gold prices. Wake up and see what happens in the world.

your always present to Chinese related threads and your opinions are way optimistic even for failed projects like ARJ-21/C919/L-15. or copied/license help projects like J-10/J-11/J-16 etc. there are countless examples.

Sorry, my question was where I was overoptimistic in this tread; I did not even mention anything related from CHina; and You gave no reply other than a false generalisation … and even in other treads I’m not sure why the posting of images – and that’s what I do most here – is too overoptimistic !??

there are some countries like India or Brazil that take into consideration cost of weopons or some technology transfer. but for countries in Middleast/Northafrica/Latin America/Central Asia or even East Asia. it is the military might of the supplier nation that ultimately decide procurement policies. so the reach and strength of Ruaf is very important for export products.

Again … where in any case was the “military might of the supplier nation” is the important factor. If this would be the case all sales would be won by the US … given the “military might of the supplier nation” especially in comparison to the RuAF.

But again I leave You dream on … it’s simply too stupid to carry on wuth a RuAF-fan boy !

    I can only say DAY-DREAMER !!!! :highly_amused:

how you know what is big and what is small. I gave predictions based on hard currency potential.

irrelevant, since they are not including the latest political developments … the world has changed a lot my friend during the last few weeks; SADLY.

You are the one giving optimistic predictions about Chinese aerospace industry and giving contradictory opinion to widely believed narrative in the world that most Chinese systems are either copy or license. that’s why its your China.

Where did I give any prediction in the last posts ??? None … otherwise please teach me.

    mine is always objective opinion.

ThaT#s the best joke in that forum since weeks !!! :highly_amused::highly_amused: That really made my day.

Again you have a lot of misconception about arms market. When these countries see that gaint bombers/PAK-FA supported by Airrefullers/AWACs flying around in Ruaf colors. it give those government assurance to buy other weopons from Russia.
credibility is very important in export market.

First of all that was never the case and will never be the case. Why should any country byuy Russian arms only since it is flying in RuAF coulours !! Another joke to say so. As such it seems Your beliefs are simply led by misconceptions, since arms sales are – if not politically motivated – in all cases a compromise between cost and performance driven in the requirements …. and here Russian products (at least aiurcraft) don’t sell well at least by Your conception. By the way “credibility is surely not a typical Russian attribut !!! … just ask the Indians about the opinion in this regard to aircraft carriers, prices, A-50I AEW, Mig-29, ….. and even more credibility is also very important to be taken seroiusly in such forums. :dev2:

But please let us end this funny talk. If You like keep Your beliefs that all countries will buy Russian producs as once they will see “gaint bombers/PAK-FA supported by Airrefullers/AWACs flying around in Ruaf colors”, what I highly doubt.

    Have a nice day-dream,

To stay polite, don’t mix “my China” – which by the way is not MY China – with “Your Russia”. I agree with You that for China I see several problems on the horizon … but that’s not the topic here.

As such You were the one who said that these projects (= period when PAK-DA/PAK-FA/UCAV/MIG-31 replacement ) “will start producing numbers the after 2020” and now You say it has a chance of maybe, eventually, probably, has a chance … to fly by then, that’s a difference.

Even more even if PAK-DA does not “need those high Gs and high speed of fighters” it has other requirement that don’t come easy … as such time will tell and even more the countries You mentioned; none of them is the real “big” market, not Iran and even less so Kazakhistan/Algeria/Turkeminstan … Iraq You can forget as a market in the same way You can forget Ukraine.

your only giving prediction until 2020. 2020 is just finishing of industrial modernization. It is the after 2020 period when PAK-DA/PAK-FA/UCAV/MIG-31 replacement will start producing numbers.

I can only say DAY-DREAMER !!! I would bet my ass, that until 2020 we will not even see a single PAK-DA flown, PAK-FA will only be in limeted production – maybe 5-10 airframes – if not still in test, the same with a larger UAV/UCAV and even more a MiG-31 successor, there will be nothing I promise You.

The worst thing is who will buy Russian products in these numbers that You predict that the income again will be invested into own products:

India … I do’t see any Indian PAK-FA-I or whatever it is named
Syria, Iraq …. all states in dissolation so de facto NO income

    … and what else ??? Maybe a few Yak-130 here or there, a few MiG-29M or so … but who will buy a PAK-FA, a Su-34 ?? No-one.

    Again You are a day-dreamer.

O.k. …. but in this part there are words like “… it would be bringing … is now ready to produce this powerplant without Ukrainian participation” does not mean for me it will be produced especially already this year and even more if confirmed by “according to a source in Russian industry” !

Sorry to say so – again You are day-dreaming – not that I daubt that it will be, can be done, … but not within one year.

And regading a worry about CHinese imports, if they can’t get them from >Ukraine, then Russia will surely sell them.

By the way regarding “specilists are leaving” … to CHina maybe ?

I don’t think so since not even rising investments in the defence sector (which IMO will be cut due to overall shrinking income) alone is a matter. Just an example : What will happen with the Ivchenko-Progress AI-222 for the Yak-130 build in Zaporizhia ???? And there are surely several other items wich are solely build manufactured in Ukrainian factories…. which I’m not sure are so eager to sell to Russia.

Sorry, but You told us that “Now the priority is replacing 95% UKranian components in one year ….” … I seee this in NO way esp. in mind of the latest political developments, the decling Russian economy and by the way not even technically since these are not simply plug & play components which sometimes to not even have a Russian equivalent available nor the facility in Russia to produce then within that very brief timefrome.

Sorry, but You say that “Harlavaa is needlessly pessemisic” … I say that You are way overoptimistic and sometimes even simply a day-dreamer.

… Now the priority is replacing 95% UKranian components in one year ….

And You suely think this is a realistic target ??? … esp. in mind of an declining economy.

Oh, I’m not criticising the plane or the project or whatever it is supposed to represent. It will be interesting to see what it will lead to in the future, certainly.

Then I maybe misread You post, SORRY !! … but I only wanted to remind that this bird so far is simply a demonstrator.

A comparison with the Gripen would be even more interesting.

Yes, or with the F-20 !

What use would such a small plane be, to an island nation like Japan?

Hey … it’s only a technical demonstrator for research purposes; nothing more, nothing less. Maybe comparable to the X-29, X-31 ….

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_ATD-X

To admit if this project ever evolves into something larger to become a so called F-3 to replace the F-15J I don’t know – to admit I’m highly sceptical since this one would require much, much more (most of all higher-thrust engines) – but so far it will be used to test technologies.

BY the way a comparison to the F-5E Tiger is interesting:

    General characteristics ATD-X – F-5E

    Length: 14.174 m – 14.45 m
    Wingspan: 9.099 m – 8.13 m
    Height: 4.514 m – 4.08 m
    Max. takeoff weight: 13 t – 11,214 t
    Powerplant: 2 × IHI XF5-1 turbofans (+AB 49kN) – 2 × General Electric J85-GE-21B turbojet (+AB 22.2 kN)

By now i think that there´s enough evidence to point that there´s a “connection” between the two designs, my own personal view (without trying to convince anyone of it) is that the J-10 is what a Lavi would look like if the design team had only the larger/heavier/more powerfull AL-31 available instead of the PW1120.

    Cheers

    Exactly !
