the al-31FN is the first version but now there’s a new one.
the D-30 provides the power the J-20 would need as the Al-31 might be underpowered for the J-20.
this is speculation but I don’t see how you think the new version is the same engine.

Sorry, but where do YOu see a new engine ??? There was one of the engines replaced a few weeks agon, but both are nearly identical with one only lacking the silver coating. Besides that You can’t fit a D-30 in the same bay of an AL-31 due to its diameter,…. that’s simply a fact.

As such I really wathch the J-20 program quite closely … this is surely the same engine.

Thank you Deinosaur for the pictures. Y-20 is a very sexy beast and I have updated myself to relfect it so.
D-30 engines it seems. This confirms that most likely J-20 also uses D-30 variant.

Regarding the Y-20 I agree with You but with the J-20 it confirms noting and why should the engine be the same ???

By the way nearly each and every detail indicate that it uses the AL-31FN,

Seems as if the clock is ticking ….

Destroying the North Korean missile before it is launched is the best of bad options on the Korean Peninsula. A prolonged crisis would undermine regional security and global efforts to stop nuclear proliferation. And a future war would be much worse. The most prudent move is to eliminate the most imminent military threat in self-defense, establish clear and reasonable limits on future belligerence, and maintain allied unity for stability — not forced regime change — in the region. This is the kind of pre-emptive action that would save lives and maybe even preserve the uneasy peace on the Korean Peninsula.

A reworked super-Lynx to compete to replace the Bell OH-58D Kiowa as the US Army’s Armed Aerial Scout (AAS).

    The AW169 is not a reworked super-Lynx (that’s the AW159 !!) but a new bird based:

Easy way to tell MiG-19 from F-6 is the presence of brake chute fairing at the base of the fin. MiG-19 never had these.
Also , these are twinseaters JJ-6, see the added two fins under the tail.

    Exactly ! That’s therefore quite simply a F-6C

To admit I don’t know the other “sources” but similar to the mentioned “Chinna-issue” strategypage.com si surely the MOST reliable source. Besides that they all say there are plans “If North Korea attacks”, in case of somthing is started from NK … and that’s a very big difference to “there’s an active plan to pre-emptive” overran NK !

This common knowledge seems to escape you, just like your knowledge on the PLA structure.

Therefore again I’m very much surprised that this “common sense” is written and posted no-where else and supported only by You. As such it’s not only me with a lack of “common sense” since there are many more likely reasons for the situation and how it will be dealt with … other than a conspiration theory.

In regard to “YOUR” common knowledge on the PLA structure. … I’m still eager to learn what You know in regard to the PLA’s structure, it’s MR and what sources You use … other than all the other ones which are so different !

See it from the NK regime’s perspective; they have the ROK in the south with an overwhelming firepower eager to invade at the first available opportunity in the front and China in the back plotting to launch a surprise attack from behind to remove the current regime and install a pro-Beijing puppet government. This is the reason why China’s the only country conducting civilian air-attack evacuation drills right now, because the Chinese leadership envisions a possible North Korean strike of China in contingencies.

In this context, the only thing that guarantees the Kim regime’s survival from both ROK and Chinese invasion is the nuke, and is investing a significant portion of North Korean GDP in the development of nukes and ICBMs as deterrent. And there is a pressure in the ROK to invade North Korea now before this deterrent is completed.

I really would love to know what stuff YOU are smoking !!!???

Do You have any proof of these statements that either the SK or China is eager to invade the poor NK’s ?? … or is that again so much beyond us and onl yYou are that wise to see the facts ?

Come on … let’s not only assume …

To be honest your attitude to your North Korean brethren is rather worrying SlowMan!

So what you are effectively saying is: seal them up and work them in conditions of virtual slave labour to rapidly build this new industrial infrastructure that will make Korea the industrial powerhouse greater then China, Japan and the rest of Asia put together. The NK are there purely to provide cheap labour and damn their humanitarian needs?

You have no concerns about the duty of care you have to them in such a scenario and you assume that they are quietly going to roll over and take that kind of situation?

I wholeheartly agree with You, his attitude towards this situation, towards NK and SK and most of all his arrogance is annoying ! 😮

I know You surely once again will tell me that I have to shut-up as at the SecretProjects Forum, that I need to learn from You like China, Korea or even the whole South-East Asia works, … but exactly this is the behaviour which lead to Your banning !

I can only beg a moderator to stop this non-sense since it even more ruins the once fine quality of this forum to a standard close to at WAFF.

I wonder if this is going to be Pak-Fa as a interceptor or are they going for a totally new bird. Sounds like 2020 design and first flight and then 2028-2030 enters Russian airforce.
Could be unmanned stealth design. who knows such a long way of.

Sorry, but once again – if it is not the T50 – this is IMO just another wet-dream !!!

How on earth will they field “a new long-range fighter-interceptor by 2020” if this new type hasn’t arlready flown ???

However if one reads that report correctly it sound much more true: “The Russian Air Force is hoping to receive a new” …. in the same way as there will be peace in Korea, Iran’s fighter will fly soon ….. :diablo:
