    Silly Question.

It’s 2019 and the Scott’s have voted for independence.

The Royal Navy have/are moving South. The CVF’s will stay with the RN.

Now is there yards in England, Wales or N Ireland.
That A can carry on with the upgrades, to the second boat that get’s cat n traps.
And B do any refit’s that will be needed, over time?

However yes, the VLS must be quite big for real: there’s space reservation for another 16 cells… and it is deep enough that the current 5-meters cells can be swapped with 7-meters ones (Tomahawk capable). Big sizes indeed!

Would it not be better to fit SCALP, rather than Tomahawk?

[QUOTE=imperialman;1779438]I’m not very clued up about the organisation or set up on Ascension Island but isn’t Wideawake Airfield a British facility, RAF Ascension Island? I thought the base came under the jurisdiction of the UK? On what grounds could the US object to the use of the island?
    [QUOTE]

At the time the RAF had no one staioned at the base apart from the CO. The USAF at the time put problems in the way of the RAF flying into the airfield. It took a call from Maggie to Ron for the problems to be sorted out;)

Fedaykin, i think you are giving to much credit to the Americans. Also as to satallite images, most of them came via Oslo.

    And as

to the Americans gave us was not causing any issues over using Ascension Island

They did cause trouble at frist.

Iran isn’t aligned politically with China.

Some Political Correspondents might not agree with that, with others saying it is just a matter of time before it happens.

I think that any Egyptian government is as likely to close the canal as any Iranian government is to close all its oil wells.

But then the New Goverment might go the way of Iran, and align itself politically with China. Which could see a Navy Base that is in NATO’s back yard. So to speak.

    Don’t just blame this Government.

Getting rid of Sentinel R1, would this have anythink to do with the order for AN/APY-8 Lynx Synthetic Aperture Radar/Ground Moving Target Indicator (SAR/GMTI) systems. That the RAF,is going to get with the 10 Reapers that have been ordered?

Where is all the money coming from to buy all them NH-90’s. Same can be asked of the extra A 330’s.

And as to FSTA, dont you think that the goverment has tried to do that?
But was unable to do so.

This whole idea that China can somehow bring the US to its knee’s. Is well laughable.

Very true, as it stands. PRC has around 20% of Foreign Governments owned US Treasury Securities (Aprox $850Billion). Also of note that the UK holds around 10%
