The truck will carry at least 12 missiles, and in the MBDA images is shown with its own small crane to self-reload itself by picking up 6-missiles clusters from another flatbed truck.
Both the launcher and the reloads could be carried DROPS (or new ELPS) style.
(systems such as SAMP-T need a dedicated reloader unit)
Dose anyone know if CAMM, and the bit’s and bob’s will fit into a standard TEU Container that is used by all 3 services.
Dave
I was more thinking of jump-off points in the ex-USSR.
This is the case, that is starting to happen. Containers have started to go via rail, via Central Asia. And then fly in.
Dave
Dauntless is meant to be doing the first Type 45 firing very soon.
Check out
Dave
I hope Jim dose not mind? But would it be a different ball game if the former UK Goverment. Had not gone back on it’s word, but did build a airfield on Saint Helena?
That the RAF could have used.
Dave
Its also very unlikely that the UK will get another helicopter type in service when the onus is very much on reducing type numbers to reduce costs.
If this was for any other unit within the Armed Forces yes, but this is the SAS we are talking about.
Dave
I have it at the back of my mind that the new government is looking to cancel it and retire the type but can’t find anything concrete from this year.
Look’s like it’s going ahead http://www.helihub.com/2010/06/18/cae-to-upgrade-british-puma-simulator-and-training-services/
Myself if they do go ahead with a order of some sort, i think it will be either a UH-60 or AW 149’s
Dave
I’ve just read the government is going to sell of the high speed rail link HS1 that cost £5 billion for one and a half billion.
Madness
If you are going to post statments like the above get you Facts right. They are selling the company that has the rights to operarate the line for 30 years. The goverment will still own the Track ect, ect. Today Tommorow and in 31 years time.
Do yourself a favour visit this site read it all

Dave
Articles have appeared in the media stating that 10 NH-90 Helicopters are to be ordered to support British Special Operation forces at a cost of £100 Million.
10 for £100Million? Would like to see that.
Dave
I was rather miffed about the culling of the Forgemasters loan.
Do you think that the French were going to buy British when they have the plant to do that job all ready owned, eg Areva???????
Dave
thanks for the help.. but i still don’t know where to start.. where is hatton cros station? is it good spoting zone? will i be able to catch the big aircraft like 380 of australia? i’ve herd thayre landing in 27L?..is it posible to see there the touch down?(you know, the fog which comes out from the geers)?
Here is a link to a map of the area. Look for Hatton, just to the East of the Airport
[URL=”http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&rlz=1R2ACPW_en&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=hatt…]
And Hatton Cross is in Grid E1 on the following underground map
http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/standard-tube-map.pdf
what do the BAA do if they came? can they take the camera and arrest ppl for spoting? is there places they just ask questions but leting go after it when they see it’s okay and not making a big deal for spoting person?
In a word YES, they call the Police who can and have nicked people and or remove people for spotting.
Dave
2. i want to make one day spotting in the aircraft departs/landing in heathrow airport, is there any recomanded place to spot? how do i know what runway the aircrafts langing? is it require car or posible buy underground/bus?
You might have problems spotting at Heathrow. BAA are not friendly to spotters at all. And the Coppers may ask you a few questions, along with the joys of a search via Section 44 of the Terrorism Act.
My advise is go to Hatton Cross Tube station if you want to see what is flying in and out of Heathrow
Dave
Spain has therefore suggested that the machinery currently at the British factory in Filton, near Bristol, where the plane’s wings are made, be brought to Spain, and the country has even offered to pay the costs of the transfer.
As you saw this in the press, i wont hold my breath. Why!!
GKN plc of the UK today announces that it has agreed to acquire the wing component manufacturing and assemblies operation which is located on the Airbus Filton site in the UK.
Airbus has also awarded GKN life of programme contracts on all existing Airbus programmes for the Filton operation.
The Filton wing component and assemblies operation being acquired by GKN employs approximately 1,500 people and has been developed by Airbus as a centre of excellence for wing structures. It is a manufacturing and assembly specialist for metallic wing components and assemblies such as leading and trailing edges, ribs and pylons. It supplies the full range of Airbus aircraft including the A320 family, A330/340 family, A380 and A400M.
GKN has also signed contracts for significant work packages to design and produce large scale composite structures for the wing of the new A350 XWB (Extra Wide Body) long haul airliner

So if this go’s ahead the Lawyer’s will be in Heaven

i think a low kiloton yield air burst over buenos aires should put a message across
Having just come back from working over there, on the Argentine National Grid. That would be over kill. 2 or 3 TLAM’s, placed in a couple area’s Would take out Buenos Aires electricity supply, along with a few others area’s.:dev2:
Dave
Why AW149s? Why not NH90s?
British Made to keep the voter’s happy.
NH90 would it be a case of having to buy into someone elses build order to get them quicker ?
One of the reasons against a order for the NH90
Also put pressure on AW to get the 149 up and running quicker
Also a order of this type will keep running cost down. Why! What has the AH-64, Merlin and a AW149/NH90 got in common?
