Some palms will be greased and the developers will move in. Or the land will be sold to Germany.

    This is a good one!

Remember Under An English Heaven, the first-rate novel about the 8th Airforce and its impact on the people of a Suffolk village?

Well the author, Robert Radcliffe, has recently launched Dambuster

He uses the device of a fictional crew within 617 Squadron and an Intelligence Officer at Scampton (A badly burned Wellington pilot) to weave a novel around the time of the formation of the squadron, the raid and its immediate aftermath.

From all I read it is historically very accurate – a contrast to the Brickhill book.

I devoured it in three sittings – totally enjoyable.

Heaven still stands out as his best work, but Dambuster is a good excuse to turn off the tele.

    Moggy

So much incredible stuff has been written, about events that have actually happened, and are real, I prefer it to reading something that someone has made up.
But whatever floats your boat, so to speak.

As I said earlier, she has done herself no favours with this silly letter. It was the arrogance of her last paragraph that made me gasp.

Flying a Spitfire is not a superhuman feat. Any average tailwheel pilot could fly one with a little training.

I hope I never live to see this proud island divided with internal cross border controls.

    I shouldnt worry too much.
Border controls have never been Britain’s strong point.

I was watching Parliment channel the other day and when asked about currency, the Scottish MP said they would probably ditch the pound for the Euro.

That MP must be a slow learner.
I thought Scotland wanted more independence not less

If the Scots have any sense, they’ll chuck Salmond out and remain British.
But incase they don’t, here is the new RAF roundel:-
