Its a great book. Lets hope someone takes up the film rights soon, I know of a Vulcan the film producers could use for air to air shots!
I thought it was awful. For something that is titled ‘Last Summer’ the pictures of people look entirely contrived – where are the crowds? Irritating that they all described as ‘plane spotter’; irritating that 90% of the photos of Concorde itself are utterly rubbish… I guess the slideshow replicates the content of the book, if so, it’s one worth avoiding.
Go on Damien…. post one of your piccies. Remind us of the times we “vanished” from work for an hour or so to see them off!
There is a some of money needed to operate the aircraft between June 17th and the end of July 2007. So please any good leads would be good, less than 20 weeks to go…..
I have seen a lot being used by fans of jet powered go karts, worth Goggling to see what brings up?
I’m selling Lightning, Victor, TSR 2 and Valiant DVD on my web site. Maybe I should stock the Bucc?

I wonder is NASA will adopted the same policy when the Space Shuttle is retired. Based on BA’s thinking, I expect to see a SS on display in China!
The proposed Mk 3 Vulcan would have had either 6 Skybolts AGM’s or three Gnat type drone aircraft fixed under the wings.
Again, any evidence for this? Vertical upward rolls in Vulcans! 😮
Or are we descending into the realms of fantasy here?
Vertical Upward roll – No Way.
How do you solve a problem like Brewer…
Get a group of like minded people a 7.5 ton Hi Ab and go and get it!
I have a museum in the UK who might take it on as a restoration project!
Hello chaps.
Just watched the Vulcan story and saw some nice video of the 603 gang working on getting her running again. It sounds like she has one seized engine for sure but they couldnt get another running for tech reasons.
Any news lately on her??
That a VERY old video you are watching Peter!
I think she might just appear at RIAT as well, IF all goes to plan.
But thats late July?
Not saying it was just suggesting it may have been. I would not point the finger if it was, because of their shape it is easy to underestimate the space an aircraft will take up
People/companies need to be made accountable when using public money. Next we will have the Valiant in a veil, because its the right thing to do!
Bad planning, shame on you. I hope Lottery money is not involved in this venture?
I took a trip on BOAB in 1996. Sadly never to be repeated.
If you look on Google Earth you see two Speedbirds docked at T4, one with a catering van in attendance!
Not sure about having three a/c on the runway at the same time though!
Any ideas (in case, the top 100 FSTE don’t sponsor 558) how to fund the operating flying costs of a Vulcan post summer 2007?
