Those are brilliant pictures you got there, just out of interest what body and lens sre you using to get those kind of results. Im looking at getting a Canon fixed 300 f2.8 instead of using my 80-400 but as its a lot of cash would the results warrant getting one?.

Ive found that in 20 odd years of shooting that you can’t argue with an animal lover because they only see man with gun killing innocent animals and thats all. Who gives a toss whether farmer giles has lost 1 acre of crop due to rabbits and pigeons, or the forester has lost 200 newly planted trees due to deer. I remember animal lovers releasing quite a few mink from a lab facility a while back and look at the destruction caused by them, now thats an animal lover for you. Ive been asked over the years to shoot hares because of flight safety on an airfield, pigeons in the hangar cos they’re dumping on the aircraft. Now the mentality of some of these animals lovers if a jet hit a hare on the runway and killed a pilot they would probably say the poor hare never stood a chance. So forget trying to justify hunting to an animal lover, you’d have more luck inviting the pope to a brothel.

HI, i have a 4-16×50 illuminated reticule scope on the sako finnfire and on the Ruger M77 MK2 i have a 3-12×44. id love to put schmidt and benders on them both but i seem to be doing ok with what ive got and i suppose as long as im hitting the target thats all that metters eh. The Ruger came with a laminated wood stock which i found terrible to handle so i fitted a Hogue fully bedded stock to it and changed the trigger to a riflebasix adjustable one, tto say it has changed the gun is an understatement. However im not so keen on the stepped action which requires special scope mounts as this limits the ammount of movement allowed to get correct eye relief. Think one of the main things i love about shooting is that im up before dawn which means some of the animals you see mooching around at that time in the morning you wouldnt see during the day, i only control what needs controlling and its not an anything goes thing for me. Ive had foxes and dear walk past me less than 10ft and not know im there and have just wandered off non the wiser, times like that i wish i had my camera. Lugging that Ruger around i get plenty of exercise and fresh air being out and about and i loves it.

If you had the time to work this out it would be interesting. work out how much wages you get take off income tax, car tax, fuel tax vat on food and goods you buy and see what you have left over a 12 month period. The workin man is getting robbed blind for everything he has.
We are a nation who says oh well what can we do about except pay up, fuel went to 80p ltr and folk kicked off, now it over £1 and people just lay down and pay it. This government has broke us down completely now and people are leaving the country to live elsewhere, what state will britain be in in 10yrs time, dont for a minute think it cant get worse cos it can and it will.

Love it when you hear death and destruction with regard guns, but when you hear it on a forum were people have an interest in fighter planes and bombers it does make me wonder if people think these aircraft were designed for airshows only, dont think enola gay was a display aircraft.
