Is a cr 42 one of them bi-plane types and if so when were they used.
missus took mustang pic, the spitfire 9 was with a 300d and the 18-55 lens it came with. I must say that the mustang is ideal for killing 15 minutes while walkin the dog.
thought it would be nice, maybe even have a caption contest 🙂
Closing the show at Biggin will never be the same and the way Ray Hanna did it will never be forgotten. Goodbye.
oops! did’nt mean chorley, i’ve heard your from Southport in Merseyside. Got some dates through for a course in January so i may not be on BBMF this summer, all good things must come to an end. I’m sure comments will continue to pass through this forum though.
Oh and by the way 2 out 36 aint bad for starters
Bruggen 130,
Thanks for the comments, but re the first, I have to disagree. The black on the LHS, in my opinion, gives the image context, which cropping tighter takes away. I also think it helps draw the eyes to the subject – the picture looks great mounted and framed. But hey, eye of the beholder etc.
Re pic 2 – possibly – to be honest, I didn’t pay much attention to that one. It was a pre-focussed opportunity shot (with large Nav intruding on the bottom right hand corner!).
(Both images shot on Ilford XP2 using a 15mm f4 lens with separate dedicated viewfinder, mounted on the flashmount. Pic 2 was taken without reference to the vf, with an outstretched arm (!), whilst pic 2 was intentionally framed as shown with no issues of parallax etc.)
Maybe with a bit more practice your pics will get better thus reducing the amount of times other people will need to adjust them, Coming from chorley you may want to venture into the world of colour photography now that it is truly up and running. Good luck and best wishes
1 very very patriotic F-117. now would paiting a union jack on the underside of a tornado be so much fun?
Think that idea would not be very pc, cant go round waving the union flag, would be great though as you said.
I could’nt resist a comment, you know me “big gob”.
You cant say that about our stormin, he is a bottomless pit of aircraft information and technical knowhow for which he is well renouned at BBMF for sharing with the pond life that hangs on his every word.
I would love to be sitting in the door of BBMF’s Dakota with PA474 in close formation
Everyone who took part in the 65th anniversary of the Battle of Britain at RAF northolt in september, Veterans especially. RAF REGIMENT did a parade with mixed dress(old and new) which was superb, along with a Spitfire /Hurricane flypast that had to be one of the best ive ever seen with any aircraft promptly followed by a Typhoon of 29(f) sqn. I met loads of veterans and cheekily asked them to sign my Hurricane print which they did with pleasure along with telling me of the times when they were all young lads flying and fighting in the Spitfires,Hurricanes,Blenhiems.. etc. I spoke to John Freeborn and he told me of a friendly fire incident that some of you probably know all about(74sqn spit shooting down a 56sqn Hurri).
nice pics, im confined to the hangar now the season has more or less finished, didnt see the hornets til friday. If fluffy catches me buggerin off to take pics of planes he’ll go ape s@*t. 🙁
my pic of southport out the R SEND of the Lancaster
Typhoon should have flown with the spitfire this weekend but the bad weather up north put a stop to that. Should be going to blackpool n southport tomorrow(lanc, dak fightersx2).
