Thanks!
@Cloud9 : considering that I still have few more images in mind, let’s say that commission work is not to be considered in a near future.
Nevertheless, what were you about to ask for?:)
Hope you like it for what it is, not as a quizz about the how-to!;)
Indeed, it’s CG planes over real backdrop, no mistake. I do believe the quality of FlightSim atmosphere simulation is not good enough yet to compare to real views of clouds etc.
The intend is, as I said, to propose you photorealistic pictures of up-to-come liveries on A340 and A330, and exotic situations/pt of view. I’m trying to push the photorealistic thing way further than what Boeing and Airbus can propose on their website.:p
By the way, have a look at my website to see other pics and how-to…

Was a program like Rhino used?
Yes, Rhino 1 then 2 was used to build the models. Then I import the surfaces into the old version of Max I use to render. Setup and lighting is done for each pic so colors, point of view, sun azimuth and elevation are correct. Final compositing is done on Photoshop6.
I don’t have a problem with it as such, it’s just that this has always been a photography forum. You know that as well as I do!
If admin/modo think it’s not the right place, just tell me, no pb.
How the HELL did you get them so insanely clear?! They’re mindblowingly good!
Maybe because these are not FlightSim! 😉
XL airways of UK did, but I think the french branch of the company is still alive. Nevertheless, two of the four A330 on order for XL will go to another airline…
Few more?
Magnificent Etihad!

And of course, magnificent Concorde…

Well, let’s make this topic rise from the deads… ;o)
The current hot news here in Toulouse, but I think most of you, A.net addicts are aware, is the first A330 for Aeroflot.
I had the chance (and actually had to struggle with traffic jams to reach my shooting spot) to record this beauty few days ago when the sun made a quick appearance…
A bigger view here…
The XL colors on A330 look great…
Of course I think you heard about the Pratt&Whitney GTF (aka PW1000G) flight test campaign…

The first A330 for Air Asia X, here appearing whithout the logo on the nacelle…
The last A340 “basic” version is a VIP version…. Looks great to me!

The first A380 for Qantas…
A colorful A320 for Air Asia…
And one of the greatest plane here, the brand new A340-600 for Royal Jordanian…

Let me show you what it should look like when fully done (best guess)

You can find all these pics right there on my personnal website http://www.konnek-t.com 😉
Qantas nacelles are being prepared at Aircelle in Toulouse. The red-and-white kangaroo is just great on those monsters!;)
The aircraft will not be ready soon.
Next to come is the first complete and brand new Emirates A380 but I’m not sure we will be able to see it here in TLS
And new (and old) stuff!!:D
Airbus testing new V2500 version on A320
And the latest A330 for Jet Airways
More to see, with more frequent update :p on

The fancy features of A380 which have attracted comments have been wide Suites with separate bed, vertical maindeck sidewalls, wide upperdeck, broad front staircase, spiral rear staircase… but I have not noticed either comment about or images of lifts.
Maybe simply because these “lifts” are only “goods lifts”. If I remember well, while visiting an flight-test A380 here in Toulouse, I noticed elevators as one can find in a hotel restaurant kitchen for exemple. So they are not meant for people AFAIK…
For some days now, Airbus has been performing some tests in the engine noise field. The Flight Test A346 has been equipped with modified Thrust Reverser on Engine #3 featuring now chevrons at the rear end of the cold nozzle, very similar to the B787 ones.
Engine #2 is featuring modified Inlet lip too.
Air Asia bought so many A320s, we feared to be quickly bored by the sight of the red-and-white livery… But we had many special livery (see above) and some little special stickers too, so it keeps us awake! ;o)
Here it’s a disabled logo on the nacelle…
As one can see, there’s still a lot of work to do on the airframe before it finally flies…
I believe this was during the transfert of the a/c from the sections assembly jigs post (poste 40) to the “finishing” post (poste 30).
It will probably look like this at the end… (yes, it’s the clean version! ;o))

I always thought the fuel was warmed to prevent such happenings
Fuel is notably used as a heat sink for oil cooling.
I don’t know the particular Boeing 777 fuel/oil architecture but as far as it involves RR engine, I believe there is a fuel/oil exchanger somewhere…
Here are some more news from Toulouse!
The first A345 for Kingfisher finally made its first flight…
And Air Asia is partner of the Formula One team AT&T Williams, so aircraft 9M-AFW (W standing for Williams?) is wearing a special -not very aesthetic to me- livery with the team’s colors…
And another new A330 for Qantas with the great modernized livery…
In addition to this (but without photo proofs from me) we were visited today by the BAe Hawk ZJ951 from Warton, UK, wearing its beautiful, special livery…
And the first Air France A380 made a little ride outside the Airbus Lagardère Plant for few minutes…
