Why don’t you just download a tester for MSIE? This app is quite handy for testing purposes.

Must confess that some of the support during the pools stages is a tactical, and now Scotland have lost one of their games and know that Argentina are pretty much certain to win their remaining game it is all to be played for by Scotland and could catch England off guard, in no part due to the fact that Johnno still hasn’t really settled on the centre set up.

I just don’t like the way the Word Cup is having such a damaging impact on the Premiership as the table testifies.

It has to be remembered that this type of program has to appeal to those who probably can’t even really tell the difference between a Hurricane and a Spit as well as the likes of Baz so from that point of view by not getting too detailed and historical but instead going for the personal approach it provided a different view from the usual.

If it’s not visable most of the time…what the point?

Probably like a lot of things, because it can be done and even if it isn’t visible 99% of the time, who ever did it knows it’s there.

To be fair to the lazy journalism of the daily wail (never thought I’d be defending them) they just copied and pasted the Reuters info which was on the yahoo link.

It’s unfair that Tigers have lost the first two games of the season due to so many players being down under, however I’m sure that Wasps and Exeter aren’t complaining. Playing club rugby during the 6N, Autumn Internationals, RWC isn’t exactly fair but such is life.

I think NZ worked hard to put the demons of their opening game behind them and took it out on the Japanese who weren’t as bad as the scoreline suggests.

I once went to the Indian national side v Tigers, who were almost an academy site, final score was 144-3 in favour of the home team.

?? What a stupid statement. The rugby nations had been playing international tests for around a century before the World Cup, and the 1987 tournament had been in the planning for years before taking place. It was hosted by New Zealand and Australia, and teams from Britian, Europe, North and South America and Asia all took part. Your misguided thinking that “the rest of the world” hadn’t “realised what was happening” is pure fantasy.

Why? What are your reasons for stating this?

Only just seen this so I’ll reply now…yes the statement was a stupid statement, that is what was intended. The RWC wasn’t as high a profile in terms of exposure or income generated as it it is now but the tongue was firmly in the cheek when I said that they only won it as no one else realised. However looking at NZ’s current playing style and especially at home there is a huge amount of pressure on the team and their track record in the RWC is becoming a bit of an albatross.

As for Japan hosting the RWC do you recall the work that Woodward and Johnson put into supporting the Japanese bid, they are an emerging nation for the world cup and just like the former Eastern Block countries which had a dip in form following the end of the cold war there is a need to build upon the foundations these countries have and really encourage the development of talent so that they can do what Argentina has done and become a serious threat to the old boys of rugby. Further to this look at the way some teams such as Samoa have had to during this world cup have fund raising events to just help pay their way during the RWC compared to France, England, SA, Australia who all get financial support from the IRB. At the time the decision was announced that it would go to NZ not Japan there was a huge outcry of criticism.

Moving on to the current England team, I’m sure that the squad we now have (with a few changes) will lift old bill, but not until 2015, not a dissimilar situation to the team of 99, world beaters can’t just be brought together at short notice, Clive built up the team over several years with the 03 cup as the long term goal, the 02 and 03 6N showed the direction the team were going in both in terms of confidence and playing ability, the loss in Ireland and more recently to Wales shows some of that. It should not be taken in the same light as the last game before the 03 cup when the team were captained by Nobby and suffered a defeat to France which if stories are to believed it was agreed that we would lose it and it did reset the unbeaten record to zero for the start of the competition.

Still think we stand a good chance of making the final, but not against NZ.

There is nothing against stores having charity collections or giving money, don’t have a problem with that at all, it is the misleading nature that is the real issue.

Have to agree with J Boyle, if there were clear signs indicating to the public what was actually going on then I wouldn’t have to be livid, just very annoyed.

I would imagine the footfall at supermarkets is quite high so for a charity an option of 50% is better than nothing so they have little choice in the matter. I could then speculate that the reason the Wings Appeal are reluctant to talk about this is for fear of losing out completely, which is understandable, but it is certainly more than a storm in a teacup.

Is this 50% to Tesco charity a national policy, plus who decides on the charity?

Storm in a tea cup? If this is true then people are giving money to charity under false pretences, I for one would be livid if I thought I was giving money to one charity for half of it to be directed to another which I may not for any number of reasons object to.
