Can you explain why it is so bad that a building for use primarily by Muslims is so bad?

I’m sure that in the long term a bit of understanding and tolerance all round would allow for churches, synagogues, jain temples, mosques etc to be built where ever, Basra or in Helmund, all most people really want is to get on with their lives in peace and quiet to practice their views how ever they want.

As long as those practices don’t have a negative or offensive impact on my life then they can do what they want.

The world really just needs a nice big group hug (and more planes):D

Why? I’m sure no one would complain if a church was built there and as with any religion the views of a few extremists is not the same as the majority.

Haven’t read anything, but what is the logic behind a smaller more agile force while limiting them to self defence only? Why do you need a deployable, agile force if it does nothing else than defending your glorious island? The logic behind these claims escapes me.

Isn’t this siege mentality and the besieged would be worn down eventually if it were a greater force on the offensive?

Sometimes offence is the best defence and an attacking force could neutralize at source the threat.

Wasn’t it something like this that Hitler was banking on in the summer of 1940?

Something that may need pointing out to those who call the shots

Are these the things you have to do now to flog this magazine.

    There’s a magazine? What’s that then?;)

The biggest question I’ve got about Flying Legends is…Saturday or Sunday, which day will be better?

Too early to tell weather wise but still need to make some plans.

I’d like one day to see a Whirlwind, at flying legends or anywhere, top of the shopping list when I win the lottery 🙂

Otherwise it would be great to see the old Stringbag as I’ve not seen it in years.

A degree shouldn’t be ruled out, it isn’t just history but a combined degree such as the one I did covered both history of art, material culture (still haven’t worked out what that is) and museum studies all of which helped provide a more in depth knowledge, work placements, contacts and if I’d wanted a career path into museums (illustration and drawing is more fun so I returned to that).

Also I know that Leicester uni is running a good MA in museum management as I have a family member doing the degree whilst working in the education department at Duxford.

Uni provides a lot of other opportunities and is about a lot more than just getting a bit of paper and some debts.

So if you really want to work in historic aviation I would seriously consider all options, plus it will help no end in the long term.

My local museum only have bloody Rembrandts, van Gough, van Dyck and the likes of them 😀

The Rembrants sounds like a series of airliners and the van Gough and van Dyck from a little known Dutch company producing WWI fighters

your going to have to come up with something pretty obscure to make it a challenge

If I can tell what it is then I doubt it’s a challenge but I keep an eye on this thread in the vain hope that one day I’ll know the answer.

Meanwhile I’m happy to leave this thread to the real experts.
