Both of this mornings flights have been cancelled.

Has anyone kept a record of what has been achieved in the first week of operation in terms of the %age of scheduled flights flown?

I take on board that you wouldn’t fly empty, but it would be an interesting statistic to monitor progress in the absence of any official comment from the airline.

I suspect Rockjock was the one passenger stranded at I.O.M. 😀 although he denies buying a ticket 😀

As our man at the center of the ‘action’ or ‘non action’ I hope he is camping out in the terminal for this evening’s on the spot report! :p

NewForest – You must be joking! I’m in Edinburgh today but took the 15.00 BA IOM – GLA flight. Takes a little shorter time than the alphaone “direct route” !!!

Does anyone know if Alphaone has made any flights yet? Been too busy to start digging yet.

I do see however that the EDI flight board just says Please Contact your airline…

No. But its a short hop from Blackpool to the IOM to position the aircraft for this evenings flight.

    Alphaone flight tonight – possible

Alphaone is considering using a Piper 8 seater out of Blackpool to fulfill it’s flight schedule tonight. Passengers unable to fly this morning will be transferred to this evenings flight – if Alphaone decides to take up this option.

    Dear rockjock

How do you know there was one passenger stranded or where did you get the info from ?

Welcome to the board new member. Interesting question as a first post?

I said at least one passenger was left stranded. In fact it turns out that 3 passengers were left stranded at EDI for this mornings flight. Source Edinburgh Airport.

But did any passengers turn up? 😀

Yes, I know of at least one stranded at EDI for this mornings flight.

    ALPHAONE – NO SHOW

Sadly Alphaone failed to show up at IOM this morning. Flight Support their handling agent said the flight hadn’t taken off and that they didn’t know what was going on… Sound familiar.

I didn’t see it take off from Ronaldsway this morning, nothing on the departures list, but I might have missed it!

    GOOD NEWS

    Just on Manx Radio News…

“AlphaOne start date confirmed but in a smaller aircraft.

“AlphaOne” Airways will be starting scheduled flights tomorrow as planned
but in a smaller aircraft than envisaged.

The Jetstream 31s, expected to fly the route, are not yet available and won’t be until early in the New Year. So a nine seater will be used to start the services.

An earlier problem over licensing has also been solved. “

From the pilots mouth – Alphaone doesn’t fly J31’s

Well assuming it’s true, and I have no doubt in my mind, the pilot due to fly this weeks Alphaone flights has posted on PPrune saying Alphaone flights are cancelled… Very sad news… If you want to follow the dicsussion on PPrune have a look at Topic: ‘Baby Branson’ my @rse.

No announcement has yet been made!

Alphaone announce to the press that they will provide them a trading update at 9.00am. Nothing is heard – Is that a surprise?

I just hope that the crucial alphaone meeting last night (which they announced to the press that they were holding) has resulted in Alphaone being able to provide the service for fare paying pax this Wednesday.

Whoever this new person is, I think its safe to say that we don’t behave in that way on this forum.

Thanks to your latest post, yet another AlphaOne thread will no doubt be closed.

T5 If you were reffering to me as the new person, I suggest you reflect on the value your post added to this topic. I would have thought that pointless posts like yours are more likely to get a thread closed.

The post I made would be of great interest to anyone already booked on or considering booking a flight on Alphaone. Not everyone has access to the IOM newspapers and Radio station news. It was they who were reporting a factual trading statement from Alphaone regarding thier operations.

I’m sure if you were booked on this Wednesday’s flight (I’m not by the way), you would be one of the first to want to know that the airline concerned is about to announce a major decision regarding its services.

Moggy C – Sorry for not understanding the “history” – Thanks for putting the post in the right place as I’m a newbie to this Forum.

All credibility will be lost in the IOM if there is yet a further delay /pull-out by Alphaone. I know people who are booked to fly this Friday and others who are relying on the service to get them home for Christmas.

It is certainly ominious that Alphaone have not place any paid advertising for this route and the website still remains under-construction and not updated for several weeks… Lets see what is announced at 9.00am Tuesday.

    Breaking News

    On Manx Radio website.

“A decision will be made tonight (Monday) as to whether the new AlphaOne Airline will start business on Wednesday.

A spokesman says an announcement will be made at 9am on Tuesday morning, December 12th. She would not give a reason for this further possible delay to services.

The airline was due to start up half way through November but a delay to that start date was announcement, ” due to the complexity” of setting up the business, in particular the online booking system.

The first route was due to be the Scottish capital on Wednesday with other routes following in the new year. That launch now seems to be in doubt.”

I posted this in a new thread but within a few minutes it had disappeared. Mods in action? I know a few people who are booked on this “airline” and are expecting it to get them home to their families before Christmas (2005). Come on Alphaone deliver the goods.
