I hunted out some pictures of the prototypes and they all have the light and also don’t have the navigation lights on the tail RWR. So maybe at some point they switched to putting the lights on the RWR but still had the fitting on the tail and eventually this has been removed.

I am looking at buying a book on the Tornado and wondered what you guys might recommend. I need something that has good detail especially of the cockpit.
