I we trying to reinvent the wheel here? Would finding someone who worked as an observer in WW2 not yield a result? I would imagine they spent alot of time perfecting a way to judge height.
I was speaking to a friend last night who should know. He stated the same as what the Telegraph have reported this morning. Sadly this is the first one lost in such circumstances.
Anyone want to make an insurance company an offer?
I quite agree about the poison. However after that our local rats have a choice. The cats or the air rifle. No I don’t mean the cat is trusted on his own with an air rifle! Images have started coming to mind!

Anyone got any updates on BOAB? I had a visit to T5 the other day and they didn’t say anything about it although I forgot to ask.
Whilst T5 A & B are built there is planned to be a T5 C later on. Could it be that she will go there as per some of the original thoughts?
Can’t see her going in to LHR East when it is built as there will be nothing in that for BA.
Could also put a B777 sim in there for interest. I know where a realistic cockpit might be going spare at the moment!
Have used the real B777 sim in the past and would recommend it if you get the chance of an invite.
1. Wings & Wheels at Dunsfold. Great little show in 2007. If some more trade stands of interest turn up in 2008 it would be one of the best. Reminds me of a smaller version of what Biggin used to be.
2. Any show that has XH558
trying to finish off a project for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Good Evening, Anything interesting? Not often ATR gets mentioned around here.

She is/was a relatively young aircraft. According to GINFO she was built in 2001 and had 23476 hours on the clock as at 31/12/06.
A search of the AAIB site doesn’t show up any previous incidents for this aircraft. However the AAIB are stil investigating an incident to a US based B777 which suffered electrical failure following a fire. Seems there is a history of this with newer models. Could something like this have affected the control of the aircraft? Time will tell.
Good job by the flight crew and cabin crew anyway.:)
Must have been agonising for the crew getting so close, reminds me of Kegworth.
Reminds me of very similar issues we had with the 737-200 back in the 90’s. We were warned about excess water in the fwd loo & galley seeping down into the electrics. Can’t recall if this was a problem with one of our fleet or a warning we received from elsewhere. Maybe an engineer out there will recall more.
Mmm, How much can you win on the lottery and hide from the Missus?
My US favs

I have a 1931 Lasica flying helmet, including goggles and earpieces and tubes. Quite how this got over here from Australia is anyone’s guess. I’ve tried many avenues and still haven’t got an answer. It was found in a house loft near to Gatwick.
All I can say is that the Lasica family don’t know and that it definately wasn’t brought over here by Nancy Bird Walton as she has recently confirmed it was not hers.
Oasis Hong Kong doing one of their displays? Sounds very similar.
Glad to hear the old girls are still doing well. I think some of them are ex CityFlyer ones I worked on a few years ago:)
They always were profitable where others weren’t. By comparison to other types I worked on they were always very reliable. Often had small niggles but nothing to stop you going. I only remember getting stuck down route once in five years.
