Just a quick request if you don’t mind mods
As there are quite a few posts to catch up on when we log it takes a while to wade through to see if there has been any sort of official feedback or announcement from Key. When there is some official news is there any chance it could be put on the Historic forum as a stand alone announcement to be read and then leave this thread for on going comment?

The bit that gets my goat is that someone can make an allegation yet stay in the shadows and not be named or their allegation printed. The accused and other users lose out yet they have nothing to lose as they can’t be named. Leaves it wide open for anyone to make any sort of complaint. Puts webby and mods in an almost impossible position.

If you can I’d also suggest an externally mouted aerial. Makes a huge difference.

Guess we’ll all have our own views.
Personally it floated my boat so I was happy to keep giving money. Whether I will go on to give money to other aviation charities instead depends on whether I have an interest in it I suppose. I was happy to pay whatever it cost.
My view is that losing 2 engines is what finished her off so early. I had a hanger tour a week before they lost the 2 engines and asked about the engine situation. They stated then that they had 2 engines that they thought they could repair themselves. That would have given them a full set of 4 spare engines I believe. Not much point now other than to provide some cover next season.
If she can be used to inspire the next generation to be interested in engineering that can only be a good thing. It doesn’t have to be the latest technology. The basic interest in spanners on aircraft etc can be encouraged and you can still teach standard procedures which are relevent.
The other benefit you can’t put a price on is the fact that it has shown the industry/regulatory bodies that a private group can safely restore and operate an old, complex aircraft. That might be important in future. Without someone breaking the mould we might have had no ‘historic’ aircraft flying in 20/30 years time.
I would be happy to see her back at Brunty for her retirement.

My wife has already beaten her to it. She’s been on another planet for years.

I’d go down the US bail bonds route and have bounty hunters making sure criminals turn up in court and for any community scheme they are supposed to attend.
That would free up police time, employ a few people and make sure criminals are chased up and do what they are supposed to do.

Can I add the Dept for Transport Shared Services Centre. Millions over budget, will never save a penny of the predicted amounts and absolutely awful to attempt to use.
