I think it depends on what You call “standardised” and as “significant numbers” but You are correct, that was surely for many years one of the biggest weaknesses.

    So far there are:

    – 4x KJ-2000 (serials 30071 to 30074)
    – 5x KJ-200 (30171, 30173-30176) – PLAAF and maybe 6 for the PLANAF
    – 4x Y-8J for PLANAF

… and as far as I know one KJ-500 prototype and NO KJ-3000 or what-ever anyone might call the next large AEW-type.

watch the video the at minute 0:32 they have the Kanjies 空警3000, this is KJ-3000, i do not speak Chinese at all, i do not know if it is an official designation or just a rumour as usually Chinese do, but the KJ-3000 is mentioned by some sources

More to the point, have any of China’s AEW platforms actually been standardised and produced in significant numbers?

Japanese assessments say China still is behind in technology and numbers to Japan in AWACS forces, of course this is their assessment, but in number they claim they have more AWACS than China

How does the KJ-2000/3000 compare with the likes of Western and Russian AWACS aircraft in terms of overall detecting range?

China is developing advanced versions of 空警-2000, if you look at this picture there is a white Kanjie just underneath the radardome 空警3000, i do not know if it is a official designation but Wang Xiaomo, vice president of the China Academy of Electronics and Information Technology claimed their goal is the next generation of AWACS has to surpass the Western made ones seehttp://www.wantchinatimes.com/news-subclass-cnt.aspx?cid=1101&MainCatID=11&id=20130722000002

did you see the Kanjie 空警3000? there were some reports about it but i do not know if it is only a rumour or official

I’m pretty sure that is just footage of the original KJ-2000 serial getting its original radar. The documentary is new, and reveals the footage for what seems to be the first time.

the video has the date 2月5日 or February 5 who knows i did not watch the program

No problem, in reality, these pictures appear in Chinese sites all the time, you were going to see them anyway, if not here somewhere else, i did not take the pictures, i just find them on the net in Chinese sites.

Nice find MiG-29. By the way what airbase is that.

As Deino told you they are from Dinxin AB, and are from november 2013, but still are interesting, like this Y-8 AWACS. what is really funny is the Chinese characters for AWACS are two Kanjies one is air and the other is police or warning so
空警-2000 means air police 2000 or air warning:very_drunk: roughly translated as KJ due to the phonetics of the Kanjies:applause:

The picture can clearly see a lot of the three generations of the Chinese Air Force fighter planes on the tarmac with the J-10, Su-30, J-11, J-8II, Flying Leopard other models.

That you’re repeatedly using F117 to push your ‘grid theory’ for a high performance fighter, speaks volumes about how much you know about fluid dynamics. What I’ve written above are statements of scientific fact and refer specifically to subsonic intake design. You can refer to pics of the T-50 to see how long the intake is, the curvature and variance in cross sectional area. Also, I recommend some Google ‘finger tap-dancing’ on your keyboard, you can start with ‘compressor stall’.

Where did I say the diverter cavity is used as a DSI? I actually said the ‘fixed wedge brake’ has a Gaussian compression function.

Also read the patent carefully, compare what is says about ‘Device 9’ to ‘Item 7’ (the fine mesh <1/4 λ for boundary layer bleeds on the intake sides). If you actually think these two are the same, let alone the intakes are “basically the same as the Su-27”, then there’s nothing further for me to discuss with you.

Look the PAKFA intakes works like the Su-27 intake, in fact it has the same elements, ramps and bleeds like any supersonic intake the extra air, it has a diverter

    http://www.militaryfactory.com/aircraft/imgs/grumman-f14-tomcat_15.jpg

The PAKFA intake still has the same principles adding oblique shocks like the F-22 intakes

    http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/5986/1806201004.jpg
Here you can see the diverter easily seen it is not a DSI

26,27,28, are the oblique shocks 29 is the normal shock

“Of course” because they didn’t take any, because there was no such interception?

the only pictures i have seen are the ones i posted before of the Su-30MKKs, but i have not seen big news at least in Yahoo.jp about the scramble
