It hurts my brain that the NATO countries can’t simply pull some rugged Hellis up from their hat that is well suited for the Afganistan climat..
At least the Ruskies did one thing right in their ill fated Afganistan conflict, namly bring the right type of equipment to the table.
Come to think about it, Afganistan should procure more Su-25 too:eek:
The Afganistan airforce do not need hellis or fighters(Tac) that can go to warp speed or fire phasers, they need units that function well and are easy to maintain.Thanks
Afghanistan probably will get some of that AT-6II.
Anyone knows if Brazil is operating some kind of local ammo on their Mirage 2000 fleet?
BTW cajones means drawers.
Are Super 530 BVR weapons carried or is the AIM-9 the only air-to-air missile used on those birds?
What A/G weapons do they utilize?
40 Super 530 missiles were bought with the qatari planes, now some of them are placed as monuments, only Sidewinder missiles AIM-9J-ULI. They also received some R-530 in their early years in the air force. Like the Mirage IIIEE fleet.
A/G are mainly all the Expal family BR/BRP/BRPS 125/250/500/1000, Mk-82/83/84, GBU-10/16, cluster bombs were retired a couple of years ago for the government. Twin seaters sometimes are seen with DEFA 30 mm gun pods.
RAF:
* EF-2000: 232 –> 160
* F-35B: 138 –> 50GAF:
* EF-2000: 180 –> 143.
* No confirmative plan for buying F-35 up to now.ItAF and Navy:
* EF-2000: 121 –> 96 (without Tranche 3B).
* 109 F-35A (for airforce) + 22 F-35B (for Navy) after 2014.SpAF:
* EF-2000: 87 (No plan for reduction up to now).
* No confirmative plan for buying F-35 up to now.
Spanish Navy is highly interested in those F-35B as Harrier´s replacement, Air Force at least for now is not interested in F-35.
Or maybe NASAMS
It´s a matter of time that some argentinean pilots will be invited to the 11th Wing to fly Ef-2000´s. They are good friends of us.
I would love so much to say my opinion about Made in China, but this thread is about UAE M2000.
Here are the options, the planes should be in good condition and quite expensive.
An option could be piece meal the deal and send to different customers. For instance Peru’ might be interested in some of them considering how Chile is growing, Argentina might do the same, maybe with some help.
For what concerns ROC I would not dismiss it. China reminds me of Japan in the 80s when everybody was scared that they would be the biggest power.
So at the end if UAE would decide to sell some of their M2000 to ROC they would do it and there still would be plenty of customers for their oil.Regards
Peru only has 140 million dollars to upgrade all their Mirage fleet, there´s no way they could afford such an expensive plane as the uae mirage´s, they also are upgrading a part of their Mig-29, don´t have enough money for all the fleet.

Thanks both, I missed that pics
The UAE has also supplied military aid to Morocco. May be an interesting option?
Or Algeria, to replace the MiG-29SMT which they returned to the producer and the older MiG-29s they still have? It would also decrease their dependence on Russia as an arms supplier.
Morocco? With the F-16 deal and the upgrade* of the Mirage F-1 fleet has spent about 3 billion $, can´t see why they could need those Mirages.
*anyone knows something about the upgrade? any prototype?
Don´t know the french but in Spain GBU-10/16 are integrated on the Mirage F-1 fleet, even before than the M upgrade.
EF-18 fleet is getting a MLU, so at least for 10 years those planes will be in the air force.
Problem with that, is that by the time the EU countries are done, F-35 is already a mature well established a/c, and the US is developing the 6. gen fighter… and we would end up in a similar situation as we have today: today, the Eurocanards are competitive to the teens, however F-35 is just around the corner. The suggested “Tempest” would be competitive to F-35, but by then, the 6. gen US a/c would be just around the corner.
Skip 5. gen and go for 6. gen. In any case, UK, Italy and Spain will probably not be interested in developing a 5. gen since they are already going into for the F-35, as will most other EU countries. It seems only France, Germany and Sweden will not be interested in F-35…
So I suggest; keep develop the Eurocanards, get those exports, and start working on 6. gen. Which will be stealthy, autonomous UCAVs.

As far I know only the Spanish Navy is interested in the VSTOL version of the F-35 About a dozen and a half or a couple of dozens, nothing else.
The Spanish Air Force is now preparing their decission about the EF-18´s replacement, but nohting is confirmed at least for now. But there are a lot of critics against the F-35 in the air force.
Peruvian AB-212, mexican commandos, and german frigate, what a mix.
2 for Algeria and Indonesia.
Venezuela is also interested
