There are some rumours about 4 Mig-23´s from Ukraine in Malabo Airport, with ukrainian crews, obviously (at least for a while)
Frenchs were promoting all their products in Libya, Rafales, LaFayette frigates, Scorpene subs (now supposedly their new design), SAM, helicopters, they are working hard.
And how much is the deal?
We paid 1.3 € billion for 24 crappy Tigers….I bet you can pay atleast 40 Mangustas with that load of money
Then SLAF has a new role for their Hinds, a2a.
Why they need a turboprop with a couple of pods when the Hind is perfect for that role?
It seems that the colombian Super Tucanos don´t have the wing mounted machine guns, at least for now.
The smaller supersonic tanks were of 500 liters, at least in our MirageIII EE.
I always thought that JL-100 rocket pod had 18 rockets not 19.
I saw a pic of Mirage 5-F with a rocket pod/fuel tank with four 250 kg bombs added, they also can add to that pod durandal ammunitions.
 I don’t know. But French were unexpectedly kind to the Brits and revealed shortcomings of Super Etendards in order to help develop some useful tactics against them. OTOH, Spanish secretly sent out a Matador (AV-8A) instructor to Argentina to provide Argie pilots a crash course ‘How to fight a Harrier.’ :diablo: Pretty funny, it could have developed into one hell of a scandal..
No, that´s not exactly true, AFTER the war, we invited argentinian pilots to Spain, and we make trials between Mirage IIIEE, F-4C and Av-8S.
Are you serious?
No, kidding about the “mussolini doctrine” we don´t need carriers….60 years after….
We don’t need such kind of ship…we need better trains, universities or hospitals.
Principe de Asturias should be replaced with a multirole ship, perhaps an improved BPE..but a CTOL aircraft carrier is out of our Armada needs.
Another “hospital ship” that´s what we need….
yeah Paraguay has six? Tucanos and four? Xavantes, it´s a big threat…..
Take care,
Israel has the equipment to beat all french, spanish and other UN troops. 😉
yeah, even the italian boys can be defeated
but if the frenchs are so “warriors” then they must go to the worse place, at the doors of the Bekaa Valley, to the syrian border, to the Golan, not in the coast, we don´t have nothing again Israel, but we already suffered french generals in Bosnia….
We can change the zones in Lebanon, we send our troops next to the sea, and the french could go to the lebanese-syrian border, we don´t care for israelis
So they want 12-18 Rafale, because Algeria bought 60 Russian fighters (Mig-29SMT’s?)?
No, the F-1 upgrade is for the Mig-29 deal, Rafales could be for the Su-30MKA deal
In Spain Sig-550 family defeated G-36 in the trials, but the german rifle was cheaper, and Germany offered more offsets, so…we selected G-36´s

BME330, i perfectly understand what you mean and you’re right when you say this cammo scheme doesn’t fit well in southern Spain’s landscape.
But then you have to remember that the choppers (Cougars mainly) will be used on military operations worldwide and not (so we hope!) in Spain!
Surely, landscape features of places like Afghanistan, Africa, etc, were taken into account when developing this new scheme. 😉By the way, isn’t it similar or even the same as the Tiger’s cammo?
Abraços do país vizinho!
But we are deploying Cougars of the army (dark green) and Super Pumas of the Air Force (grey) not this Super Pumas, well we don´t know what helos will be sent to the Lebanon with the Army units, maybe, maybe…. 🙁
Yes, the scheme is the same of the french Tigers (supposedly our Tigers will be dark green…but now….who knows…in 2011…)
Your EH-101´s has a faaaaaar better looking with your traditional scheme, hi vecino 😉
