as I said in the very part you quoted, it’s 3 nations out of 4, I’m sure you can figure what nation is not in the F-35
They keep the Tornado for as long as they can, and since they’ve shown already that they won’t finance developments alone, what they’ll do next is anybody’s guess
Neither Germany or Spain are in the F-35…so…
Indians would be nuts to go for the Typhoon, costlier and without planned follow up (3 out of 4 nations making it are in the F-35 deal, and 2 of these 3 are completely broke anyway).
So the germans are now in the F-35 isn´t it?
We are paying about 1.7 billion € for 22 Nh-90 TTH….
They have a couple, both ex brits, one from the Suffolk police, the other one from West Mercia police, early production EC-135´s
10 dead from six different countries, 15 wounded, 7 of them quite seriously.
Obviously we (Spain) are bankrupted when we are paying almost 70€ millions for each NH90TTH.
Airbus is claiming that Spain will get a couple (at least) of A-330 MRTT replacing the 707 fleet.
In the spanish case, the thing was different in the late 70´s early 80´s, after the use of Alouette III with As-11 missiles, 20 mm guns and all that, the Army Aviation has quite clear that Cobra + TOW, was the combo they needed, but then we were entering the EEC, and the partners were interested in a all european solution, so we had to choose between A-109/Gazelle/Bö-105 and only with HOT missile.
With the Tiger, more or less the same 2014 and we don´t have any HAD delivered.
Spain in 1989 was more like:
72 EF-18A/B
about 70 Mirage F-1CE/BE/EE
about 25 Mirage IIIEE/DE
about 50 SF-5 A/B
4 RF-4C, all the F-4C was retired totally in 1989
about 20 AV-8S/B in the navy

Venezuela, old Guardia Nacional was converted into Guardia Nacional Bolivariana, and the venezuelan flag and all that.
Morocco was after a F-16 purchase since 1991, and after the F-16 deal (and the C-27J, and T-6II) Morocco gave a consolation prize to France in a FREMM frigate.
With the relations between OGMA and Embraer, and after the Kc390 deal, I suppose Super Tucano could be a quite good option for training in Portugal.
Spain retired F-4C´s in 1989 and RF-4C´s in 2002.
