what blockade? last year dictator castro bought in the states millions of dollars in food….and he paid in cash….US $….All europe trades free with Cuba, but the delays in payment are…..incredible….some spanish companies are making business with the dictator (it´s a shame, at least for decent people) paying salaries of abouth 600$ month…but the state owns 550$ of every worker…..hooooray, it´s blockade fault….sure…

Italians, canadians, french, spaniards even argentineans are making business with dictator Castro (even some colombian “gentlemans”), where´s that blockade?

Algeria worried for spanish EF-2000? No way, we are training some algerian SWAT teams, we are one of their best gas costumers, and we are going to get a new line for gas directly between our countries, and they were interested in some C-295, other algerian neighbors must be worried, but not Spain.

BTW I remember a moroccan defence forum in ezboards, is still alive?

For me one Phalanx isn´t precisely state of the art equipment, neither Barak missiles, that Type 23 are great platforms, but mainly ASW and ASuW, in AAW roles are in bad conditions, very short range with Seawolf missiles.
But i always expected that Chile will get their frigates from their shipyards, getting second hand frigates isn´t the best option for the local industry.

They also need more helos for a seven units fleet, some ex RN Lynxs or something like that

But Chile already bought some second hand frigates from the dutchs ¿ 2 L class and a another couple of M class? And before that they received one Type 22-2

I don´t believe they can get another three more frigates

For me the best surface units in the tahi navy are the Ratanakosin corvettes, US Made…

Chakri Naruebet is a great unit, with Thai Marines and helos like Seahawk and S-76 is a perfect Sea Control Ship against piracy.

It´s because the Descubierta is their only real warship, with SSM (MM-38…) and SAM (Aspide), Floreal are just OPV´s with a helo, never seen with SSM, only with the Oto Melaras canibalized from another patrol boats, for sure this isn´t a flame war just the reality. Moroccan navy is like a coast guard for fisheries protection, their efforts against ilegal inmigration are less consistents….for example like the tunisian navy, algerian navy is in better conditions, but with small ships, their patrol boats operates Kh-35 missiles (16 missiles in their “frigates” upgraded in Russia), and their couple of Kilo´s are their best offensive weapon, Lybia needs new ships, their Osa´s are in bad conditions, like the rest of the fleet, and Egypt, is a surprise, in that navy they called destroyers to the couple of Descubiertas we sold them in the 80´s, and all their visits at least to Spain are very interesting, their chinese frigates are really amazing.

Spain: Hawk, Skyguard (Aspide + 35mm), Mistral
    Switzerland: Hawk (not sure), Rapier

In Spain we use Hawk PIP III, Roland, Aspide and Mistral, supposedly we will get some replacements for Hawks soon, Patriots were favourits, but now that our coward goverment is in this position, we could get some second hand Patriots from germany…we love europe

Only two Magisters in Katanga? I always believed that they at least received three, maybe four planes. A couple were operational, and the las Magister was destroyed by indian Canberras.
