looks suspiciously like the Dhruv.. what’s the deal.

Dhruv is based on the Bk-117, and the Ec-145 is just a Bk-117 II

80 to replace three dozens isn’t realistic, for the time being matching the number of Su-30MKAs with whatever they choose as MiG-29 replacement would be more than welcome by the Algerian Air Force.

It depends if they wanted the Mig-29´s that refused and returned to Russia to expand the Mig-29 fleet, or replace the old planes.

If they can sell 80 planes to Algeria nobody is going to care about Morocco. Mainly because Algeria has the big bucks despite Morocco.

I would’ve thought Penguin be integrated by now but guess not.

    There´s a pic of a german Ef-2000 with an RBS-15.

Portuguese Air Force could be interested in selling from 8 to 10 F-16 upgraded by OGMA, nothing else.

They’re negotiating for the 11 aircraft that the ADF rejected. Kaman asserts that they have fixed all outstanding issues, and have renamed them SH-2G(I). Perhaps the NZ navy are simply setting the bar a little lower; they don’t seem to be interested in using AGM-119 for example.

Well, they already are using AGM-65´s in the Kaman fleet, that should be enough.

I’m quite pessimistic about South Korea, however, its better turning up for the party finding how things are coming along rather than not bothering in first place while thinking, ‘what if?’, isn’t it not?

The main question is though is whom will these South Koreans go to to evaluate the Typhoon? Surely its a no-brainer to visit the RAF’s No. 17(R) Squadron.

Spain has the promotion in South Korea of the Ef-2000. In previous talks TA-50 was one of the issues.

So when we deployed EF-18´s over Bosnia long time ago, we had our planes with Nite Hawk pods, Sparrow & Sidewinders, GBU-16, and HARM at the same time. What´s that? multirole? omnirole?

Can you point me to the official declaration asking for offers to buy?

If not, then it is NOT being offered “right now”.

The same declaration about the export of the Leopard IIE to Saudi Arabia, and today the MoD is in Saudi Arabia. At least trying.

I would imagine that these chaps (below) have designed their navies to take on the RSSGN (Royal Somalian shotgun Navy :D) then?

Navies like the JMSDF, ROKN, Armada Española, RAAN, PLAAN, etc, dont have AEW assets.
There are just five navies in the world who do have AEW assets

    We still have our Searchwaters.

The AASM is more appropriate than the SDB for more hardened target and has specific operational advantages link to the fact that it has a booster. That being said the AASM is certainly expensive but this has not prevent france to acquire large quantity of it and a country like Morocco to purchase it.

Morocco had a package of french weapons with the Astrac program, about 50 AASM. They even received some old Magic 2.

sorry, I forgot, some pages worth reading, they`re grounded several times already(almost half a year once) due to avionic systems/software and engine malfunctions, they did not completed state trials in czech AF bcs not fulfiling requirements for Afghan deployment. Czech MOD even threatened to send back all CASAs giving supplier an ultimatum to solve problems within a short period. They also stoped sale of old An-26 in order to have backup if CASAs persist to have problems.

    greetings

Casa joined with Omnipol and that worked, because the MoD selected the plane, but the MoD threated the czech company, not Casa. The software problems supposedly are from Omnipol.

Not for sale… to be placed in reserve.

PdA was scheduled for a major refit next year (her 25-year mark) to take her through her expected 35-40 year service life (up to last year a replacement was expected to be ordered for delivery ~2025-2030).

The discussion is to place her “in reserve” instead of that refit… with the refit to take place “when” economic recovery allows the budget.

In actually, it is very unlikely she will be returned to Spanish service… but they will only admit this after at least 5 more years.

At that time they may well try to sell her, but she would need even more work to make her fit for service, and if Spain keeps her AV-8B+ aircraft (Juan Carlos I is set up to operate them in a manner similar to the USMC’s operations from USN LHA/LHDs), then she would only be a helicopter carrier with the bow ramp making a big part of the flight deck unusable.

PdA is not capable of operating F-35B anyway (lifts are too small & weak), so there might not actually be too many takers.

Right now the ship is being offered in the market.
