i thinks Obama made clear 2 months ago he was against Airbus while McCain is for competition. So its pretty much on candidates approach to the matter.Democrats seem to be listening to the Unions and Lou Dobbs so probably Boeing will get the contract if Obama is elected.Good for Boeing.it still gets the job done, even if its less capable than the Airbus.Good for Us economy, they need jobs home right at the moment

What do you mean Kirov is back? It has been active for several years.

Looks like the four ship will include Admiral Chabanenko. http://www.hurriyet.com.tr/english/world/9848175.asp?gid=244&sz=28180

i know its active however its quite some time its not in patrol.i think since a certain admiral told of certain reactor issues

indepedndently if you like or not the links, the fact is the MiG-21 by 1966 had almost the same thrust to weight ratio and by 1972 it was even more powerful, Albania with all due respect never operated the best Soviet fighters, and China never got the R-25 that powered the MiG-21 and Su-15bis, you like it or not the Russians built more advanced MiG-21s than China until they stopped the assembly lines of the MiG-21.

Sir i neither said my country operated the best soviet fighters nor that Chinese got R-25.We were fine with what we had for such a small country.Actually China received mig21mf from Egypt and copied it.
However it seems that Su-15bis never existed and all subtypes were powered by R-11/13-300 series so you are definitely wrong.
As in all threads you get stuck in smth and dont stop anymore on this one you got stuck on the R-25.Well from 10000+ Mig21 built just 2000 of them were Bis so R-25 wasnt the engine that powered most of them.

Niether me or you are wrong, what happens is the MiG-19 like the MiG-21 were powered with different types of engines.

Russian built MiG-21s had the R-25, an engine that China never got, Russian built MiG-21s differed a bit from the J-7s so you camparasion should not be totally accurate.

    check by your self

By 1972 the RD-25-300 had a Max thrust of 9900kg, three tiomes more than a single engine RD-9B

    http://airbase.ru/hangar/russia/mikoyan/mig/21/bis/

look i frequently read this forum and i dont wanna argument with you since even if i am right i would seem wrong looking to the volume of links and bs in your answers.

Its my knowledge that the 19 and the 21 have different types of engines.
Offcourse they were chinese made but the engine were different copies of Tumansky RD9b and R-11-300.R-25 was the engine of just “21bis” with 7500kg in forsazh. If u look at datas you’ll see that from first engine R-11-300 of F-13 to R-11F2SK-300 of the MF the maximal thrust is pretty much the same.they augmented the forsazh but all we know that it comes to an expense-sucks much fuel.
I also happen to read that the 9900kg thrust seems to be reachable under very limited conditions and just for 3 minutes,so i dont really understand why you mention it.Maybe another 2 minutes and it was out of fuel.

however to stay in the topic i would say F-16,Mirage III,Mig 21

The Chinese for many years had to content with early MiG-21s, the Russians did not, by 1966, the Russians had engines powering the MiG-21 with twice the thrust of a AM-9.

By 1971 already they had the R-25 with more than 2.5 times the power of an AM-9, the engine that powers the MiG-19.

The Farmers engine is called Rd-9b sir(from manual)and the forsazh output of 2 engines is 3250×2=6500kgs

Talking about engines it would be interesting to look at radius, since in Albania the F-7a managed to stay in the air roughly 20 min less than the F-6.F-6 engines were quoted to consume 55l/min on maximal and they switched to forsazh just doing the engine run before take off

On the engine power that wasn’t true until the -21bis.

Chinese J-6 we had in Albania were tuned on 2650kg each in maximal and 3250kg in forsazh so Crobato is right

    When did this even happen?

Can we now tell which boat was sunk at sea?

I’m going to guess this would more likely be Smetlivy doing the firing, since I don’t think they would use a SS-N-12 on a missile boat 😎

    Ak-130?

Where’s Garry B,havent seen him these “hot” days

Indeed the ‘black soldiers’ found line has been peddled since day one, how one can see a dead black guys body and immediatly decide thier American is beyond me but thats what many are beleiving it seems, I would have thought a black man more likly to be African but hey what do i know   , i must say i hadn’t heard the passport part of the story but i would have imagined already the passports would be all over the press bolstering the case by Russia that others have been meddling in the fighting. Maybe the passports will be shown soon, sure would be a big deal over it i bet if its true. Edit: RN scraps plans to excercise with the Russian Navy, not BFF it seems lol.

The Backfire that was lost was possibly an ELINT version, which is designed to gather air defense network information. Its quite likely the majority of Georgian AD has been destroyed, as they have been targetting military facilities for over 48 hours now.

Somebody said that it was more due to ukrainian manned S-200 missiles

    a question

im quoting a quote by MKZT on Mp.net.Probably GarryB has seen it too.
He said that in response to GBI in Poland they should arm Srf again with Ss24(rt-23) the train launched version and put trains in patrol along Amur-Baikal railway so they’ll be out of Gbi interception and also out of navy ships Sm3 from pacific?

    is this true?

Soc must know this better however there was an interesting comment of a russian guy on mp.net.It was a similiar thread.

he pointed out that bombers on Cuba is just a stupid idea. Its a better thing to begin to make again Ss-24 and put them on service in the railway line amur baikal where they can be out of Gbi and SM-3 from navy pf Sm3’s.

    is this true?
