Two moving taxi runs – times and more info can be found via the link in Robbo’s previous post in this topic.
Apologies, hadn’t seen the previous post ๐ฎ
Me and my good lady went to this a couple of years back its was great!!!
Does anyone know if they will be doing a reanactment of the airfield being bombed again?;)
I believe something is being worked on for 2009 ๐
If I remember correctly, the staff at the range explained the island as a construction experiment dating back to when there was a plan to possibly dam part of the Wash?
More info on Holbeach range can be found HERE
A stunning set of images!
Latest update is both the Spitfire & Buchon/109 are now planning to land at East Kirkby, subject to weather etc. Originally there was a chance one, or both, would recover into Coningsby.
The Lancaster will taxi at 13:30 and 16:00 with Spitfire/Buchon dogfight around 14:30
Nice footage Francis; XX894 and XX900 looked great taxiing together.
Hi Avro
We are all awaiting the official decision with interest, but there should be more news before the end of the month.
It certainly was a busy day on the airfield today, especially with XX894 being run, but most weekends will see some form of activity around the aircraft.
Thanks for your support ๐

In connection with this regretable incident I have been asked to post the following statement from the management of the museum:
The Spitfire is run as a separate enterprise to the Museum and is owned by Maurice Bayliss. The Spitfire does fly and it is very strictly controlled as to who can be around it. There are no excuses for the Majors behaviour but I hope that they donโt view it to be the opinion/manner of the Lincs Aviation Heritage Centre as he has nothing to do with us.
Kind Regards,
Andrew Panton
Lincs Aviation Heritage Centre
I’ve spent a lot of time at East Kirkby over the summer months (working on a couple of photographic projects) and I can vouch for the conduct of all of the museum’s staff, they’re always friendly and courteous – its just a shame this character has marred your visit.
