Translation anyone?
I have to ask…….will it be at Legends ?;)
Of course! It’ll be a blast!
I think, whatever is said about it’s construction, the YAM Hali looks fantastic and is a fitting tribute to the men who flew them.
I would love to see it in the ‘flesh’ maybe someday…
Is it bad that I never realised that the nose-art pictured ^ was of any great significance…after all as said it isn’t even any proper signage or anything that said about it!
On the subject of the trailer for the new movie, anyone spot the German Avro 504 Ks xD
Not unlike the famous quote about the occupants of the Dublin post office in the Easter Rebellion. “30 men marched in and 10,000 patriots marched out” 😀
Well as ol’ Michael Collins said: “The valiant effort and the martyrdoms that followed 1916 finally awoke the sleeping spirit of Ireland”
This will be the first time I’ve gone to Legends…and there’s no ‘surprise’ this year (unless i missed it of course which happens) and already several aircraft have been withdrawn, rather disappointing
Miss Pickup (Catalina) flew over St Albans about 11:35 am, East to West
Has anyone seen Eagles Over London?
Features Buchons as RAF aircraft and Spitfires for the Luftwaffe, also has a Dunkirk evacuation scene as well Quite an interesting storyline, although the head of Fighter Command going out on missions is a bit unrealistic…
They had Havards as Stukas if I recall rightly, well I assume they were, over Dunkirk.
16:41 – Bücker Bü 181 passing East to West over St Albans area
Fantastic, that’ll be quite a sight I’m sure! weather permitting of course
I’ll say it again, I love those Black 2 markings on the Buchon
Thanks DDM. Mark, if you read this – really? I know it’s a gig but.. that Yakfire is WRONG!
I honestly don’t think a director who would try to pass that one off would be that bothered about getting a genuine authentic German type to provide the crash scene.
Could it not be some kind of filming platform craft, painted and adapted to look vaguely like a spit so they can film out the front cockpit, over the tail, wings, rather than being filmed as a whole where it would look very unauthentic at any distance as you say.
As can be seen the actual spits have only the squadron codes so they could be cleverly used to show a whole squadron with added digital individual letters thsu the Yak might not be needed to build up Spitfire numbers
Thank you, very helpful indeed
Bump
What’s happening withe Camel? Still engine-less at the back I see, is it due to fly this year?
